Chapter 22 -The Confusion-

I stared at him in horror. Who am I! How doesn’t he know who I am I thought.

“Oh my gosh Rocky, I’m so glad you’re alright!” I heard Riker say as he walked up beside me. Rocky slowly looked from me to him with the same confused face.

"Who's Rocky?" he asked. Riker stared at him for a moment.

"What do you mean who's Rocky! Your Rocky!" he suddenly bursts out. I quickly grabbed Riker's arm and spun him around.

"He shouldn't be playing games" Riker said angrily. I looked back at Rocky and sighed.

"Riker, I don't think he is" I said looking back at him.

"What! What do you mean!" he asked.

"What's going on up here?" I heard Stomie ask. I looked over to see her just arriving at the door. She looked at us then Rocky. “You’re awake!” she said before rushing over to him and giving him a big hug. I watched as he pushed her away and looked at her in fright.

“Who are you? And what’s going on?” he asked. Stormie looked at him in shock for a moment.

“You don’t know who I am?” she finally asked and Rocky shook his head. I heard her sigh then she turned toward us. I noticed anger in her eyes as she looked up toward Riker. “Look what you did!” she suddenly screamed at him.

Riker looked at his mom, surprised at her sudden outburst. “I didn’t mean to!” he shouted back once he caught up with what was going on, “It was an accident!” She opened her mouth as if she was going to say something but closed it then marched out of the room. Riker stared at the door for a second before yelling after Stormie and leaving the room after her. I looked over at Rocky again and notice a completely confused expression. I walked over and sat down beside him.

“So you really have no idea what’s going on?” I asked him and he shook his head.

“Who were they and what were they arguing about?” he asked looking up toward the door Riker and Stormie had left.

“That was your mom” I whispered “and your brother.” He was looking at me with even more confusion.

“I think I would remember my own family” he suddenly said and I realized he was slowly scooting away from me.

“They are Rocky, you don't remember because you lost your memory” I said calmly. He looked at me for a moment then started to shake his head.

“No! You’re lying!” he shouted.

“No I’m not, you need to calm down.” I whispered as I reached to grab his arm so I could calm him but he pulled away and quickly stood up off the bed. “Rocky calm down!” I said louder and I stood up off the bed so I was in front of him. He just looked at him and I could tell he was scared and confused.

“Stay away from me!” he screamed as I took a step towards him.

“Rocky...”

Stop calling me that!” he screamed then he darted forward, pushed me on the bed, and ran out the of the room. I quickly got up and ran out of the room after him but he wasn’t in the hallway. I dashed down the stairs and the first thing I noticed was that the front door was wide open. I quickly ran outside to find Stormie and Rydel standing in the driveway looking down the sidewalk. I went up beside them and looked to see Riker and Ratliff running after Rocky. I turned and ran off after him using all my strength to try and catch up but I could feel myself already getting tired. I slowed down and came to a stop beside a panting Riker. I looked up just in time to see Rocky disappear around the block with Ratliff close behind him. Riker and I looked at each other before turning and slowly walking back to the house.

“What the heck happened?” Riker asked once we returned to the girls.

“I have no idea, I was just trying to explain what was going on to him but he started to freak out” I responded with a sigh.

“Hopefully Ratliff catches up to him “ Rydel said and I could detect fear in her voice. We all nodded then I turned to look down the sidewalk again. Moments later Ratliff appear around the side but Rocky wasn’t with him. He slowly walked over to us and sighed.

“He was too fast” he said panting “I couldn't catch up to him in time.”

“What are we going to do?” Rydel said and I looked up to see tear fall from her eye. “He has no idea who he is or where he’s at…”

“Rydel, calm down, we’re going to find him” Riker said as he walked over to his car “I won't give up tell he’s home.” I nodded and walked over to him.

“I’m coming with you” I said but he shook his head.

“You should stay here, he might get scared if he sees you” Riker responded. I looked at him for a moment before nodding my head.

“I’ll come with you then” Ratliff spook up and Riker nodded then climbed into his car. He waited for Ratliff before starting the engine.

“Don’t worry, we’re going to find him” he said then he drove out of the driveway and down the street in the direction Rocky had ran. I notice Stormie guide Rydel back inside but I stayed where I was and watched the car tell it rounded the corner and disappeared. I just hope they find him soon I thought before anything bad happens.
