I wiped my eyes with my hand then stood up. “Um... I know how to play all your songs.” I said looking up at everyone. They all stopped arguing and turned toward me.

“On the bass?” Rydel asked.

“I kind of know how to play it. If I just refresh my mind a bit I bet I could play it.”

All of a sudden Rocky disappeared into another room and came back with the bass. He walked up to me and shoved it into my face. “Show us what you got” he said. I put the strap around my shoulder and started playing one of there song. When I had finish they were all looking at me like I had pigs flying out of my ears.

“Your good!” Ross said. I smiled at him a little embarrassed.

“You should fill in for Riker!” Rocky randomly exclaimed.

“Oh no I couldn’t possibly do that. I’m the whole reason you are in this mess anyway.” I said while taking the strap off my shoulder.

Rydel came up to me and stopped me from taking it off. “Please you're our only hope” she said.

I looked around the room to see everyone staring at me. Finally I gave a short node.

“Great! Here is the list of the song we are going to play” Ross walked up to me and handed me a paper. I took it and read what songs there were. Then nodded and handed it back to him. “Aren’t you going to need it to know what’s next?”

“No, I remember” I said and pointed to my head. “Should I change into something?” I asked.

“No what you're wearing right now is perfect” Rydel said. She was standing beside me twirling her hair. I know she did that when she gets nervous.

Rocky looked at his watched and sighed. “Are you ready... Um Ahh... What's your name?”

“Alex.” I told him

“Alex, well are your ready?” I nodded my head and watched everyone file out of the room. I took one last look at Riker and mouthed the words “I’m sorry” then followed them outside. I walked up to the stairs and stopped.

“It’s OK” Rydel had come up beside me. “Here take my hand we’ll go up together.” Slowly, I reached over and took her hand. I stood there taking deep breaths when I was suddenly dragged up the stairs and onto the stage. Instantly I got butterflies in my stomach when I saw the screaming fans that were just inches away from me. Rydel pointed me toward my mic that sat in the front of the stage. Gulping, I walked up to it. “Of course I had to be in the front of the stage” I thought.

Ross walked up to the middle mic and took it off the stand. “Are you ready to rock Arizona!?” he said through the mic. The crowd screamed in response. “Today we have a special guest with us. This is Alex she will be filling in for Riker.” He pointed to me and the crowd’s cheers  got quieter. I got red with embarrassment and looked down at my feet. “Well lets do this!” he yelled everyone cheered again. Ratliff started the song with a beat and I instantly know what song it was. I moved my fingers on the correct strings and started to play.

“Good night Arizona!” Ross yelled as we left the stage. I walked down the stairs when Rydel came up behind me.

“You were great!” she said.

“Thanks” I mumbled back. We walking to the room to see Riker sitting up on the couch looking at his hand.

“Riker!” Rocky and Ross yelled together and ran up to him. My heart leaped for joy when I saw him. I know everything would be alright until I remembered my sico mom that I had to go back home to.

Riker looked up at us “What happened?” he asked. He was trying to move his hand but it must have been too painful. Ross and Rocky took turns telling him what had happen. I just sat down and watched thinking about what to do when I go home. If I go home. I looked up and noticed Riker was looking sad.

“What’s wrong?” Rydel took the words right out of my head.

“Guys, I still can’t play and our tour has just begun.” Everyone looked at each other. Then I noticed twelve eyes staring at me.
