They said nothing as Legolas quietly led her towards the armory tent. Once there he looked through the available battle gear and pulled out a breastplate that looked like it would fit her, new vambraces, a bow with a quiver full of arrows and a pair of twin blades. Turning towards her he placed the items on a nearby table before he reached out towards her, unclasping the cloak from around her neck. She said nothing as he continued pulling the clothes off her body until she was only wearing the soft cotton shirt that reached to the middle of her thighs, and undergarments.
"I want to check your wounds." He said softly, his fingers curling around the hem of her shirt as he met her eyes, waiting for her approval.
"They are fine," she mumbled, "I can barely feel them."
Noticing his deep frown she chuckled softly before she nodded, "go ahead, Legolas."
He looked at her for a moment longer before glancing quickly over his shoulder, making sure no one else was about to enter the tent. He could hear the soldiers lining up outside, getting ready to march towards the mountain. Turning back, he carefully pulled the shirt over her head, his eyes never leaving hers though she showed no sign of feeling uncomfortable where she stood before him in her undergarments. He handed her the shirt, thinking she might want to hold it up in front of her as he inspected her wounds, but she only held it loosely in her hand by her side, making no motion to cover up.
Legolas found himself fighting a blush as his fingers brushed against the skin on her waist, his fingers nimbly working on loosening the bandage that was wrapped around her, all the way from her waist going up to covering her left shoulder. His eyes, that had been widening steadily since he had started removing the bandage, were as big as saucers when he finished. Stepping back his eyes travelled up and down her left side, seemingly drinking in her appearance.
"Man? (What?)" She asked quietly as she registered his incredulous gaze. His eyes whipped up to meet hers before he stepped around her, his hands gently placed on her shoulders as he led her over towards a mirror.
Looking at herself in the surface of the mirror she could feel her eyes widening as well, and she was soon mirroring Legolas' incredulous look.
Her wounds could barely be seen anymore, not because her skin had healed and stretched over them, but because a scale like surface had covered them. They looked black at first glance, but looking closer she could see the blue tinge to them.
Starting at the base of her neck the scale was spread over shoulder, looking almost like a form of armor. From her shoulder it covered the upper part of her arm, reaching almost as far as her elbow. Lifting her right hand she let her fingers travel over the scales that continued down her stomach, twisting around she saw that they went to the middle of her back, wrapping around her left side and almost reaching her navel. Dusting the middle of her hip the scales seamlessly faded into her skin, almost looking like it was painted on. She tried poking it, noticing how hard the surface felt. She felt no pain as she touched the parts that had been gaping wounds only two days ago, and she carefully rolled her shoulder, feeling some pain, but not enough that it actually bothered her.
Had Legolas really dallied so much with her that he had not noticed the lack of pain? Thinking back she remember that he had basically walked her everywhere, with an arm wrapped securely around her waist – effectively taking most of her weight.
