To BrandiWatson6 - for encouraging me to update.

A couple of hours late (it's currently almost 3:am here), so I apologize for that. Started writing and basically lost track of time, ten pages in word later, and here we are! Hope you enjoy! Don't be a silent reader vote and/or comment please!

Legolas was surprised at how fast and agile Arya seemed to move beside him. What surprised him more, was how at home she seemed as she practically flew through the forest, skipping between trees and dodging low branches and bushes as she followed the tracks that the orcs had left behind.

She came to a sudden stop at a cliff, gazing out over the forest and river below them. "They've reached the lake!" Her eyes were wide, and her voice exited. Legolas squinted his eyes against the sun, following her gaze until he spotted the small figures running around at the lakeside.

"How can you not be an elf?" He muttered curiously, for he doubted that even he would have spotted them had she not pointed them out.

"Listen here pointy-ears, I am NOT an elf, I don't know why, or how my eyesight and hearing is so well developed but even you said so, you said that I am no elf, even though I resemble one."

"You have pointy ears as well." Legolas sulked, but grinned as that made a chuckle tumble from her lips. Her face quickly sobered though, as she trained her eyes on the orcs moving around on the lakeside. "We should not linger her too long, I would very much like to catch up to them before the orcs do."

"Should we not rest first?" Legolas questioned, unsure of how long she could keep going without a proper rest.

"Do not mistake me for a fragile girl, Prince. If I need rest, I will tell you so."

Legolas doubted that she would tell him should she become tired, but nodded his head nonetheless, not wanting to argue with her. Her eyes had blazed again, though she seemed unaware of it. She set of at a quick pace, her legs soundlessly hitting the ground as she moved down the steep trail alongside the cliff. All of a sudden, the sound of a horn reverberated through the forest, and there was not a doubt in Legolas' mind that his father had discovered their disappearance. Sharing a glance, they both quickened their pace, almost running down the trail to get as far away as possible from the keep.

"You should go back," Arya said as they reached the lakeside. The orcs were gone, but the remains of a deer were strewn across the ground, the blood making small pools between the rocks. Legolas didn't answer, merely gave her a quick glance before he scouted the forest behind them, looking for any sign that the guards had caught up with them. He would be surprised if they had, because even how fast elves moved through the forest, he had not met many that could keep up with him.

"Legolas, I do not want you to get into even more trouble than you already are. You are the heir, are you not?"

He gave her a curt nod, but did not make a move to leave, only moved his eyes towards the lake and its surroundings. Sighing, Arya shook her heads before a small laugh slipped past her lips. "You are very stubborn, had I not known better, I would say that you and Thorin were brothers."

The alarmed gaze he gave her almost made her knees buckle as she laughed. "Calm down, Prince. I know you are not fond of dwarves, I merely say that I see a resemblance between the two of you. He is one of the most stubborn men I have ever met." Legolas' face smoothed out, his lips twisting upwards despite his dislike at being compared to a dwarf. Even if said dwarf was a prince.
