He was very confused.
Very, very confused.
The night was supposed to be the weekly family night, minus North and Brandon as they had a mission.
Nathan was sprawled out on the sofa as luke and gabe fought for the remote, silas having already grabbed it in secret. The two men were close to wrestling for it whilst he and the others watched in amusement.
Needless to say, he was slightly confused when his brothers showed up from their mission followed by a mystery bird.
Everything fell apart when he took in the gaping expressions of a few of the men around him. Both Luke and Gabe had stopped fighting as the glanced at eachother before staring at the woman again. Corey's named had been echoed towards him as the stranger and he made eye contact, both looking equally as frazzled.
Sean was the first to move from his place in the middle, rushing towards her and checking over the visible wounds that Nathan had waved off initially.
"wow a trained doctor! what do we do with our injuries, not let the doctor near them, " he muttered sarcastically
"let the good doctor take care of you huh, sunflower? I'm great at this y'know? " he spoke softer, dabbing antiseptic on a cut that stretched across her collarbone. Nathan could almost imagine the wink that would be paired with the subtle flirty remark.
Whilst Sean was focused on the mystery woman, he glanced at the others who like him, were clueless as to what this was. In the back of his mind, he was secretly glad that they all wore similar expressions to his own, except for Owen. Owen seemed to be staring at North intensely, as though he didn't already know what they had spent the evening doing.
In hindsight, it was odd they weren't told where Brandon and North were going. Usually if it was really confidential, they would have let them know as to avoid fuss. Ok, so he was curious, the others too if the intent stares that fell on the group in front of him spoke for anything.
Coughing, the woman then brushed through the men around her, looking at them quickly before straightening and giving a sluggish grin. "hey I don't know you," she gestured to the majority of them vaguely, "call me V. If I could get some names, that'd be great"
Her speech was tired and slow, the words overly pronounced but well put-together. Something must've happened from the looks that passed over her head between the boys that knew her.
The introductions had taken a short while, they had to get through everyone one at a time. When it got to Owen, he had instantaneously shook his head and spoke in his usual stern 'reserved-for-strangers-only' voice, "I'm Mr. Blackbourne, care to tell me why you're here of all places miss.?"
Too focused on his brothers, including the stiff man, when Violet had failed to answer, they all looked to see her with her head resting on North's shoulder, nose buried into the side, small exhales creating quiet snoring sounds. She was sat between both North and Brandon, the others who had met her before sent teasing looks towards his brother.
North shuffled and glared back at them, stopping his movement when they heard a huff as Violet made herself comfortable once more in her sleep. Luke snickered and his brother raised an eyebrow whilst making a motion with his thumb across his neck. The majority of the men in the room snickered, those two were funny when they weren't trying to kill eachother.
A/n: hi guys, hope everyone is doing ok! Sadly, just a short update right now but if everything goes to plan, there will be another (hopefully longer) chapter posted by Sunday/Monday. Thanks for patience <3
