Violet looked down at the half-finished form in front of her. Despite her reading ability, she wrote as slowly as anyone else- which sucked. She sat, moving her head to her music, in her office stationed within the academy building.
A knock on the door had her head swivelling to call for them to enter.
James, from reception, poked his head through the gap in the door frame. Violet's face lit up at the sight of him, the man was friendly and an amazing person to talk to. She recoiled slightly as he let out a resigned sigh. Loud voices could be heard just outside of the room and James stared apologetically at her.
"I'm afraid, V, you have some insistent visitors, it seems as though something has happened."
Before he could continue, the man's body jerked as the door was pushed from his grip.
Surprisingly, Owen Blackbourne, accompanied by one Dakota Lee stormed into her room. They had barely glanced around before both men's eyes settled on her form, analysing them.
They were overly distressed, kota was more so in a state of panic compared to Owen who seemed filled with guilt.
"were doing the mission together, and were sitting now, there's been another kidnapping." he demanded.
She went to snap at him for being an asshole but stopped at the desperation poorly hidden from his voice.
"I figured there's an average of twenty nine hours before they do anything to the victims, times limited. Most likely a duo, man and woman, from the contrasting patterns. After the twenty nine hours, we have sixty, maximum, before they actually murder the victim. So far the past groups on the case have been unsuccessful with their attempts to find the pair."
Blackbourne cut in, "her name is Jessica Lee, seventeen years of age. We will find her."
Kotas sister? Seventeen? No no no, no. That didn't fit. They had set ways, there would be no way they would ever go for someone under twenty unless- unless they knew about the academy? But that made no sense. The connections were almost impossible to find.
Meanwhile, the men's minds were racing. After violet had left, they'd received a panicked call from Erica. She'd been frantic. They'd just about made out the jumbled words of her seeing her daughter be pulled by a man into an alley. Apparently, after racing after them, she saw a van swerve away with no jess in sight.
The only reason they'd made the connection to the current serial killer was the motive, someone pulling someone into an alley. In clear sight, then before they got caught, driving off in a blue van.
Violet's mind whirred, this case was getting to her and she hadn't even started. She managed an absent-minded nod of agreement, accepting their not-so-request of help.
It was clear she was missing something, the pair liked to taunt their victims. Making them feel close to safety before taking them away. But, they also like to taunt witnesses, giving them the feeling they were seconds away from saving someone only to snatch it from under them.
They clearly had a bigger picture in mind. It was a game. A sick, twisted, game.
Whoever it was, she'd find out. And make sure they were able to bring Jessica home to her family.
A/n: I'm back!! The drama is picking up, my friends. I'm genuinely excited to write what I have planned even though I'm sure there will be some minor tweaks as I write.
Also, for some reason, I feel like 30 chapters is insane? Is it? Idk.
