As she snuck out, away from the group, she couldn't help but regret it. She knew they'd be able to help, they obviously knew Kayli and they'd probably know what she'd do.

But with them distracted and time running out she felt this was the only way.

She sat in her car, tapping her fingers against the wheel. She had to become kayli. Not actually. She had to think how she thought and that was really not a pleasant method.

Kayli was a woman scorned, she was nasty and obviously violent. She had no idea who she partnered with but if she could think like Kayli, she'd have a better chance at finding where they were keeping Jess.

She grabbed her computer and stared at the screen of the security tape of Jessica and the van. The plates were removed but she could still try and match vehicle types with those currently in the state.

She searched for 20 minutes or so, anxiously awaiting and received only 10 matches in the last two days. As she checked them she narrowed down the most populated areas and only had three left.

With this in mind, she took off, hurtling out of the car park. And upstairs the boys were none the wiser.

As she reached her first destination she knew this couldn't be it, it was a dingy building, one of the few on the street that looked inhabited still. And although it was secluded, it just wasn't the place she would choose if she were Kayli. It looked seconds away from crumbling and the walls were so thin she could hear the sound of creaking doors from where she stood outside.

She left the building, incensed, there were only two places left on her list and if Jessica was in neither she'd have to re-assess her options.

Violet was highly aware she was running out of time, she might not be able to re-assess her options, especially because it was Jessica. Jessica meant something to the guys and that made the mission more personal, despite not knowing them that well. And Jessica could die. If she did, that would be on her, she would have killed her.

She took a deep breath to steel her nerves and looked up at her second location, this was more promising but yet again it didn't feel right.

Despite her gut feeling she opened the door, unlocked, and swept through the hallway of the one floor building. She could only hear a small scurrying sound which soon revealed itself in the form of a huge rat.

The rat ran towards her at great speed and she did her best not to freak out as she opened the nearest door and let it into that room.

As she neared the end of her search, ignoring the room now resided in by the rat, she resigned to the fact Jessica was not here. Just her luck, the final try would hopefully wield better results.

A/n: hi! Guess who's back?? It's me, plot twist! It's been about a year which is absolutely nuts. Ignore any plot holes I had to reread everything to get back to where I was and I'm drawing a bit of a blank. I always say I'm hoping to get back into writing and I am so hopefully I can stick with it this time!! Thankyou 🫶
