Chapter 12

Victorias Pov:

"Oh hey guys." Maya says with a smile.

She then looks over to me with a evil grin before looking back at Avery with a innocent smile.

"Is it okay if Maya goes with us? She was so sad after she heard that we're all going out." Oliver says and I sigh.

Why is he so nice sometimes..

"..yeah, no problem." Avery mumbles and then glances back at me.

"Um..I think I'm going to stay here, actually." I say before walking over to my bed and sitting down.

"What, why?" Avery asks while walking over to me.

"I-I just..I don't feel comfortable if Maya's there.." I whisper and she takes a deep breath, not in a bad way, while sitting down next to me.

"I know, Vic. But..if you're not going, I'm won't either." She says while placing her hand on mine and I sigh.

"No, Aves. I want you to have fun with your friends." I tell her, on which she grabs my hand.

"But I want to spend time with you. A-And I want to hold your hand while we're walking through the city a-and I-"

"You wanna do all of those..stupid little couple things with me?" I cut her off while smiling down at her.

"Yeah, I really do.." Avery mumbles while looking down embarrassed.

I then get up which makes her look up to me surprised. "You coming?" I ask while offering my hand to her.

She smiles widely before taking my hand and standing up. I intertwine our fingers and she lays her head against my shoulder.

"Well then..let's go." I say before walking out of our room.

We're now on our way to the shopping mall and everyone is chatting while I'm just in my thoughts.

My mom wrote in the family group chat that she, my dad and my sister are going to the city to buy some things for Thanksgiving and I'm so scared that we might run into them.

"Hey..you okay?" Avery asks while squeezing my hand.

"Is it about the text your mom send?" Connor asks and I nod.

"Wait..what text?" Avery asks confused and I take a deep breath.

"My mom, dad and sister are in the mall to buy things for Thanksgiving." I explain with a sigh.

"Already? Thanksgiving is in a month." Oliver says confused.

"Yeah, Thanksgiving is really important to them so they start planning pretty early." I answer with a shrug.

"Oh..well, I'd love to meet your family." She replies with a smile and I stop walking which makes her stop too.

"Look..they're really great but most of them are homophobic. Well..except my mom and sister, I think.." I tell her and she let's my hand go before wrapping her arms around my waist.

"I don't care, I still wanna meet them. Maybe I can even change their mind a bit. They don't need to love your girlfriend." Avery says, making me freeze in place.

Did she just..

Her eyes widen. "O-Oh my god, did I just..I'm so sorry I didn't mean to. I-I don't even know if I'm your girlfriend.." she says quickly and I smile before laying my arms over her shoulders and leaning in to kiss her softly.

"Girlfriend. You're my girlfriend." I tell her as I pull away.

"I-I mean if you want to be.." I add and she smiles.
