Chapter 62

Victorias Pov:

"Could I talk to you for a second, Victoria?"

I look at Averys dad and gulp.

"Oh yeah, sure." I say as I glance at Avery, who just shrugs.

Thomas then walks out of the living room and in the kitchen, so I follow him.

"So..what's up?" I ask curiously while raising an eyebrow.

"I just want to apologize about what happened. I feel that all of this is my fault. If I wouldn't have acted the way I did back then I could've stopped Jack from even trying anything with my daughter. But since I wasn't there I feel like what happend to you is my fault." He tells me, making my face soften.

"This is not your fault. I don't think someone could've ever stopped Jack from what he did. He's a horrible person, nothing can change that." I reassure him while placing my hand on his shoulder.

"I just feel so guilty, if I've been there I-"

"You're here now. That's the only thing that counts. Avery thinks that too." I interrupt him and he sighs deeply with a small smile.

"You're a really great girl, you know that?" Thomas says, making me look down with a smile.

"I'm not as great as you think." I mumble embarrassedly.

"No, I think you are." He replies, so I look back up to him.

"Look..this might come a little random and personal, so if you don't want to answer it it's fine. But um..do you want to have kids someday" He asks, making my eyes widen a bit.

Okay I really wasn't expecting that

"Sorry, that must've come really surprising. It's just..I always wanted to have grandkids." Thomas adds with a nervous smile.

"Oh no no, it's okay. I mean..I guess so? I always thought if my partner wants kids then sure, if not that's fine too. So..it's Averys decision." I answer with a small shrug and a smile.

He was about to say something but someone clears their throat.

"Um..hey, sorry to interrupt but the food is ready." Avery says with a shy smile and we nod.

"I'll see you in there." Thomas says and gives me a small smile before going back into the livingroom.

"So..what did you two talk about?" Avery asks as she walks over to me.

"He thinks that Jack hitting me with the car was his fault because he wasn't there to protect you back then." I tell her, making her eyes widen.

"It's not his fault. You told him that, right?" She says worriedly and I nod.

She sighs. "Good.."

I cross my arms and start to smirk. "He also asked me if I want to have kids someday." I add, which makes her eyes widen again.

"Oh God.." Avery groans embarrassedly, making me chuckle softly.

"And um..how do you feel about having kids someday?" She asks shyly and I can't help but smile at that..

"Well..yeah, I'd like to someday have a little family with you. But if you don't want that that's fine too. If you want to have kids then awesome, if not that's fine too. Okay I've been talking for too long.." Avery chuckles at that and then gently cups my cheeks before leaning up to kiss me.

"Of course I want to have kids with you!" She tells me after she pulls away, making me smile widely.

"But maybe let's wait for a few more years." She adds and I laugh at that.

"Yes, of course." I lean down to gently press my lips against hers.

"Wanna go back to the others?" I ask and she nods with a grin.

"Race you!" Avery says before rushing back to the others.

I groan. "Not fair, Aves!"
