Victorias Pov:

"Wait, what?" I look at her shocked, on which she looks down.

"I'm so sorry, Avery. I can talk with Ian-"

"No, please don't." She cuts me off instantly.

"He has a reason why he brought her here. He probably likes her. I can't ruin that for him." Avery mumbles with a small shrug.

"But I want you to have a nice Christmas too." I tell her, on which she smiles a little.

She takes a deep breath. "I don't want to do something just yet. Um..is it okay if we see how things go?" She asks shyly and I nod immediately.

"Of course. Whatever you want."

We're now back with the others and I can't look at Trisha the same way as before. Who does she think she is?

"So..Trisha, how did you two meet?" I ask with a raised eyebrow, while putting my elbow on the table and my chin in my hand.

"Oh we just accidentally bumped into each other a month ago." Trisha answers and I nod slowly.

"Aha."

Next to me I can feel Avery tense up, so I gently put my hand on her thigh and give it a small squeeze.

"So..how long have you been together?" Trisha asks with a curious smirk.

"A bit over two months." I answer coldly.

I can't believe it's only been two months..

"Can stand her for so long, huh?" I suddenly hear her mumble to herself, which makes me raise an eyebrow.

I stand up at that and put my hands on the table. "What the fuck did you just say?" I ask, making everyone look at me.

"Vic.." Avery mutters while gently grabbing my arm but I shake my head.

"No. What the fuck did you say? Say it out loud!" I tell Trisha sternly, slapping my hand on the table.

"You come here to my family and decide to talk shit about my girlfriend?!" I continue but then she starts to grin for a second.

"What are you talking about?" She asks while tilting her head, acting stupid.

I scoff at that. "Are you shitting me?! I know everything about you and what you've done." I say angrily, now getting a little louder.

"Dude, what the hell? Leave Trisha alone!" Ian tells me but I just scoff.

"Do you seriously believe her over me? You barely know her!" I respond angrily, slightly hurt.

"Vic, it's okay. No one believed me either." Avery mumbles next to me, making me look at her.

"Wait..what do you mean?" Jada asks with a frown, looking at us curiously.

Avery sighs at that. "My ex tried to..do stuff that I didn't want. While he was with me her was also with her. They've been all obvious to me but I didn't do anything because I was scared. And from obviously making me jealous and feel like an idiot it went to bullying and harassing me." She tells everyone and now everyone is quiet.

"Leave." Leroy says to Trisha, which makes her raise an eyebrow.

"Excuse me?" She grins at him.

"You heard him. Leave, now." Ian repeats sternly, making me look at him surprised.

"What?" Trisha scoffs, probably surprised he turned against her.

"Look- I thought you were nice and all but you don't mess with my family, got it? So fuck off." He tells her angrily while getting up.

"You people are crazy." Trisha laughs while getting up from her chair.

"And you're gonna pay." She says to Avery before grabbing her purse and storming away.

Avery and I sigh in relief when she's out of sigh. "I'm so sorry." I pull Avery into a hug and she tightly hugs me back.

"I'm so sorry for not believing you, Avery." Ian says with a apologetic smile, which makes Avery smile.

"It's okay, Ian." She reassures him softly.

"It's sweet to know you see me as part of your family." She adds and he smiles embarrassedly.

"Of course."
