"Hey buster!" a voice yells waking me up.

I sit up straight in my seat. Still holding my bag, I scan the bus to see who is yelling. To my surprise it is just me and the bus driver.

"Hey, kid. This is your stop. You gonna get off here or not?" the lady bus driver yells at me again.

"Sorry, ma'am, I'm going." I hurry down the bus to the exit.

"I was gonna say, I ain't got all day hun," she says.

Her dark skin, thick curly black hair, and the way she talks reminds me of this sweet lady back home that runs a Cajun restaurant. Best food in the whole town too.

I step out onto the sidewalk a take a good look around at my surroundings. It is nothing to special. Looks just like any other small coastal town. Like it is from a cliché Christmas love story. I walk towards the center of town to see if I can locate myself a hotel or I am going to be sleeping on the ground and I really do not feel like doing that.

I walk past a few shops then notice a sign that says, Florence Inn, down at the other end of the street. I quicken my pace and in no time, I am at the door. I pull it open and walk in. Just as I expected, a cliché town with a cliché hotel. Just looks like your typical farmhouse bed and breakfast with a slight hint of sailor décor. Need I say more?

A lady greets me as I enter, "Hello, welcome the Florence Inn, my name is Joy. The home to the one and only, William Florence, who founded this town is 1782. This house was renovated and turned into an Inn after his great grand daughter passed. How may I assist you?" she says with a bubbly smile.

"Uh, can I have a room? Please," I say a little stunned for the amount of info about the hotel that she crammed into a few seconds.

"Of course! That's what we are here for. Will it be just you?" Joy asks.

I look from side to side checking to see if I had company. Nope doesn't seem like it. "No, just me," I say.

"Alrighty, how long will you be staying with us?" she asks.

"Uh, good question," I say.

She tilts her head to the side. "You don't know?" she asks.

"No, not really. Uh let's just start with two nights and go from there," I reply.

She still is looking at me strange but also still holding her cheerful smile. It's borderline creepy.

"Okay then, I'll put you down for two nights. That'll be $55. Pardon me, but may I ask why you are so uncertain of how long you will be here?" Joy says.

"Uh, well, this might sound weird but I'm looking for something, don't really know what yet," I say hoping that will satisfy her.

"Oh, I see, well I hope you find what you're looking for," she says cheerfully.

That was easy.

"Here's your room key." She extends her arm, the key dangles from a lighthouse shaped keychain with the number 7 written on it. "Your room is number 7. It's just up those stairs and to the right can't miss it.

I take the key from her. "Thanks."

"I'm here, always," she laughs, "if you ever need anything just give a holler."

"Cool, thanks." I swiftly but discreetly make my way up the steps and down the hall to my room. Joys, well joy was much more then I could handle. I find my room and unlock the door. I step inside, shutting the door behind me. In front of me is a queen-sized bed with blue and white striped bedding. Mahogany nightstands sit on either side of the bed with strange looking lighthouse lamps. I look around some more and notice some tacky boat themed décor along with a big enough window to walk out of. I would have thought they were glass doors but by the fact there is a drop off right outside of them I ruled that out pretty quickly.
