Chapter 29

~~~~~Chapter 29~~~~~ 

 ~Nashoba~

I stared at the TV. It was playing some old movie, but I wasn't paying attention to it. I was too busy trying to figure out how I was gonna make Dani see that I wasn't all that bad. That I really did love her. That I didn't mean to cause her so much pain.

I heard my siblings run down the stairs and Chilam jumped over the back of the couch landing beside me. She smiled and said "So...We were wondering if you would sing us to sleep again." When I didn't say anything she smiled even wider begging "Please???"

I laughed and then said "Okay, fine. But, you have to promise to go to sleep. Okay?" She nods vigorously and then flashes a thumbs up to the other two. They bounce up and down. I laugh and grab them up off the ground. They squeal until I say "Hey...Shh. People are trying to sleep you two." Chilam runs up the steps and I follow holding Isi and Kesegowasee.

Chilam closes the door as I lay Isi down in her bed. I sit Kesegowasee in his and then tuck each of them in. Chilam however doesn't really like it anymore. She kinda shoos me away while I just smile. She pulls the covers up higher and I take my shoes off. I pull my shirt over my head and fold it. I laid it over the bottom of Kesegowasee's bed and sat down beside him. I reached up turning the light off. I thought of something and then started singing.

He sang this multiple times until his siblings were finally asleep. When he heard their even breath Nashoba took a deep breath. Nashoba looked over at his sisters. He slowly got up and tucked in Kesegowasee tighter. Nashoba grabbed his shirt and and shoes walking silently out of the room closing the door quietly behind him. Everyone was in their rooms. It was packed tonight. Not a room left for him.

Nashoba made his way back down the stairs slowly. He put his shoes down on the ground. He put his shirt down on the back of the couch. He grabbed a small sheet and pulled his pants down folding them and laying them next to his shirt. Nashoba laid back. His feet hung off about two feet. He sighed and sat back up. He walked to the light switch memorizing the distance before he shut the light off and scrambled around. He finally laid back down after stubbing his toe about a million times. Nashoba finally yawned and drifted off.

~Dani~

I woke up early the next morning. I sat up and put on a pair of furry crocs. She quietly went down the steps. No one was awake yet so Dani continued on. As she went down to the first floor she stopped as she stared at the sleeping body of Nashoba. He had a cover that blocked anything below his waist.

My heart quickened and I breathed a little heavier. Then I snapped myself out of it and looked away continuing into the kitchen. Nashoba would have to earn me back. And, I had the perfect way he would do it too. I grabbed a box of cereal out of the cabinet and some milk. I pulled out a bowl and then poured some in. I kept the box beside me as I ate.

On my third helping Nashoba wandered in sleepy. He quickly stopped though when he saw me. I smiled at him and he said "Oh..." He looked down at himself. He didn't have on clothes other than boxers. I raised my eyebrows at him and Nashoba tried to discreetly fold his hands in front of himself. I kind of smirked.

"You might want to go and put some clothes on Nashoba. You wouldn't want someone to see you like that. They might get the wrong idea." He looked like he was about to say something until he disappeared inside the living room. I had almost finished my third helping.

Nashoba came back in pulling his shirt back on. He grabbed a bowl sitting down. He started pouring milk and cereal in the bowl and while I was taking a bite and asked "Hey. Can you get me a cup and the orange juice?" Without hesitation he stopped what he was doing and jumped up. He searched through the cabinets pulling out a cup and the orange juice. He put it down opening the orange juice. He poured it into the cup to the brim. I stared at it and said "That's too much. Why did you pour so much?" Nashoba shrugged and bent down sucking it out and tipping it back. I almost laughed at this. It was obvious he hated it. He screw up his face then swallowed. Nashoba shivered and I giggled downing some of it before giggling some more.

Nashoba put the juice back pulling out a small bottle of apple juice. Nashoba opened it quickly downing some. I watched and then finished off my cereal. I put the bowl to my lips and drank the milk out. I put it down with a milk stache and Nashoba smiled slightly. I licked it off putting the bowl in the sink.

I finished off the orange juice and filled the cup with water. Nashoba was eating so I said casually "Hey Nashoba. Me, Dakota, and Alix are going to the mall. You really should come. In fact I think it would be a great idea if you came."

I listened to her proposal. I was about to decline the invitation since I was thinking about taking Kesegowasee over to his friends place and Chilam and Isi to get ice cream. But, Nashoba quickly corrected himself and said "Ok. I'll come. I'll even drive." She smiled and left quickly after that. I heard her run up the steps and enter a room. Then the muffled voices of Dani and her friends.

Nashoba sighed and finished his cereal. Being a teenager was bad enough, but a werewolf teenager was even worse. He had always thought it was normal until one of his friends had explained to him just how bad his appetite was. Nashoba ate twice as much as Dani had. He drank two bottles of apple juice and put his bowl in the sink. He threw his stuff away and slowly walked up the stairs to get changed.
