Chapter 30

~~~Nashoba~~~

Dani came back soon with her usual clothes on. She had on a camo shirt with a black hoodie, the camouflage visible under the hoodie's collar. Her jeans were loose fitting black, but they still fit nicely, and to finish it off she had on a pair of black nike basketball shoes. They were a product of playing basketball for the school team.

I glanced of Alix and Dakota with a small nod, they just give me a little sarcastic "Hey." With the most sarcastically happy faces I have ever seen. I sigh and grab my wallet and keys off the table. They usher Dani out in front of me and I can't help but to roll my eyes. I walk out behind them and Dani, Dakota, and Alix hop into the back part of the truck so they don't have to split up, like they ever do.

I got in slowly taking my sweet time, still trying to decide why I ever agreed to this, when Dakota growls at me "Hurry it up, Alpha boy!!! We have a lot of shopping to do today and I don't feel like waiting on you!" I snarl and she meets me with the same hostility. I am tempted to throw her out of the back and show her that respecting me is something that is extremely important within the pack, but I refrain knowing Dani wouldn't be too happy about that.

I crank the truck up, back out of the long driveway, and then push the pedal down as far as I can. Sure it wasn't safe, and I would probably get put in jail if a police saw me, but I honestly didn't care, and by the way the girls were messing around in the back they didn't either.

After an hour of driving, I finally pull into the mall parking lot. The girls are lounging in the back, but as the car slows they jump to their feet with renewed energy. I sigh pulling the keys out of the ignition and heading after them as they hop out of the back and walk as fast as they can towards the doors. 

We start out in some store, it has nothing to do with what I would pin the girls as liking. All over the walls is skateboarding equipment. The girls spend most of the time looking at boards and talking to some guy, I had seen him a few times at the school, but never talked to him. The girls laugh and talk to him for a few minutes before they get serious and start talking prices of different boards. I've never been into skateboarding. Not my thing, I'm too big to balance on the tiny wooden contraption. The girls end up telling him to hold a board, nice looking, and that they might come back at the end of their shopping tour. Then we once more head out to go to another store.

Next I find myself in some body wash store, I think the sign had said "Bath and Bodyworks", but I wasn't really paying attention as the girls sprayed body mist stuff everywhere. Finally they turned to me and Alix, all hyper as usual, asks "Nashoba! Does this smell good to you!?" I lean down, but before I can even try to smell it she's spraying it wildly in my face. The spray goes up my nose burning the inside of my nostrils. I sputter and cough while Dakota sniggers in the corner and Dani's nostrils flare as she tries to keep her usual straight face, and not bust out laughing.

I nod saying "Sure...It smells wonderful...I like it..." I continue coughing for a few moments, before Dani grabs a few more bottles of different smelling perfume stuff, and she heads to the checkout line, with Dakota and Alix right behind her.

The next store we go to is a bit more realistic, it's JCPenny's, and I try to ignore the urge to just wait outside, but I feel that if I did it might strike against me with Dani, so I just follow them throughout. Dakota ends up picking out a really nice outfit, it has a hipster look to it, but it looks good on her, and I like it. Alix buys a normal, black top, with dark wash jeans. Dani, however, hates everything she tries on. She fights with both of the other girls, telling them she hates the way she looks in the clothes. Dakota and Alix however, will hear nothing of it. It's actually amusing to watch as they force Dani into the dressing room and make her try everything on that they pick out. Dani comes out in shirt, on the verge of the hipster look, with black jeans. The shirt is a dark gold and gray color and Nashoba just stares. He can't help his reaction though. To him, everything Dani tries on, is beautiful, and he doesn't care what it is.

Finally, all three have something and then they turn to me. I sigh "Fine, I'll pay. Hand it over."

The girls give me a look and Dakota says "Uh, no. You're going to go try something on, Alpha boy."

I can't quit from growling and shaking my head "No...I don't like this place, besides they probably don't have anything to fit me."

Dani and Dakota smirk and Dani answers, "Oh they do. Alix went and looked. They have even bigger than you covered on the other side of the store."

Dakota nods "So get your big, Alpha butt up, and move right on along. We have outfits to find for you."

Before they can grab me I make a run for it, but Dani is in front of me within seconds, which is surprising, I thought I had caught them off guard. Alix grabs my arm wrapping her own arms around it, and holding on tight, with surprising strength, as she drags me along, Dakota pushing me along not giving me time to regain my footing. Dani watches for a second with a small smirk on her face, before Dakota grabs my other arm hauling me along, and Dani replaces Dakota pushing me, not allowing me to get enough strength to pull away.

After they drag me over to the men's side, Dani pushes me into a chair holding me there as her arms wrap around my neck and her chin rests on the top of my head. I almost smile, just barely able to keep a straight face. Finally Dakota and Alix both come back and hold up tons of things. Dani pulls back slowly and pushes me hard enough to send a jolt through the chair. I'm on my feet then, and Dakota and Alix shove me into the dressing room. My eyes widen a bit at all the clothes they had stuffed onto the small rack and then the other one as well.

I do as I'm told trying on everything they want me too, until they're satisfied with the perfect outfit. I pay, as I had promised, for everything bought in the clothing store, and we continue outside. Dani is about to say something when she stops cold in her tracks her eyes widening a bit. Dakota and Alix realize her state before I do. They instantly stop looking around to find what Dani has already sniffed out.

I finally stop and turn to look at them, taking in a deep breath, and I catch the smell. It's musky, and smells more like a rabid dog than anything. But, the tang and twist of my stomach into anger tells me exactly who I am smelling. Zander and his little henchmen here to get revenge. I turn slowly looking until I spot the werewolf on the other side of the opening of the intersection. Zander is staring dead at us, and so are his little minions by his side.

Though before we can continue to watch each other, or cause trouble, I spot them. A lot of them, not werewolves though. The vampires from the farm are spread out in different places, some even on different floors as they all watch. Earl and Linda are smiling as they talk acting like a normal, old married couple, as Linda points around in the middle of the intersection smiling and Earl nods. Zalia is looking crazed, but she keeps herself under control. It looks like every single one of the vampires are here. They are just standing by and watching, not taking a single step, or moving in even the slightest, just...staring.

Billy is sitting on a bench closer to us than to the other werewolves, Javier on the other side, closest to Zander's little group. When Earl finally looks over at me, he slightly quirks his lips into the smallest of smiles, then raises his hand higher and some plan they had set, is put into motion. The three levels in the vicinity clear within minutes, as everything within a range of visibility are pushed out. No more humans to get in the way if Zander or I blow up. Billy and Javier have placed themselves in front of Earl and Linda, and Zalia squats on a car staring at Zander with crazed eyes, still wild as always, like she had just been turned.

Then Earl says "I swear to every god on this green Earth...If either of y'all take a step, just a step, towards each other, all of us here vampires will take you both down, got it? We came here to keep the peace, and that's exactly what we'll do, no matter what."
