Next day, Kiara was determined more than anything to get Mori to join their group. However, she didn't know where to start. So, that's how she started.
"Mori! Right? How are you?!", the cheery girl bounded up to the tall girl, looking up at her happily as they went to their next class. With her books cradled in her arms, Kiara hid her embarrassment of walking next to the proclaimed 'dangerous' girl. Of course, in part to Mori being an actual reaper.
Many stared at the two, not only because of Mori's reputation but the matching of a reaper and an immortal phoenix warrior. Whispers arose, creating unrest and traffic in between the hallways.
"U-uh, it's Mori yeah," Mori uncomfortably shifted as she glanced around awkwardly, "I'm good... How are you?" She spoke without looking at the shorter phoenix and tried to increase her pace to reach her class. At first, Kiara was able to keep up until Mori started walking faster and faster until she was able to slip away into the crowd.
"Mori! C'mon let's talk a little longer!" She called out, only earning more stares at herself. Kiara sighed, turning away to go to her class. One that Mori (luckily) did not attend with her.
The day continued with many of Kiara's intrusive greetings to Mori and Mori somehow continually dodging out of the way of Kiara's sight. With how tall and prominent Mori was, it was surprisingly and impressively good how she was able to dodge Kiara's onslaught of appearances.
As the day came to an end, Kiara was getting more and more downhearted as she realised Mori's unwillingness to talk to her.
With a groan, Kiara packed her bags and met up with the group... Well, two of the three that were meant to be there. Gura and Amelia were idly chatting to each other about some game until noticing Kiara's apparent low mood as she joined the two. With an awkward glance at each other, they regarded Kiara's odd demeanor.
"Kiara, are you okay?" Gura spoke sympathetically, holding and almost hugging Kiara's arm to her chest. She looked up at the towering girl, wanting to see her expression.
Kiara chuckled humorlessly, "I'm okay. I guess Mori doesn't enjoy my presence so much!" She huffed in annoyance until trailing her eyes off to Amelia who looked unsurprised and unempathetic: devoid of emotion.
"What did you expect? Mori's a lone reaper. It's not like she's used to a person like you."
"What does that mean?!" they bickered like children as they walked. Well, Amelia and Kiara did. Gura however, asked the right questions:
"Where's Ina?"
...
Ina scrambled, looking for her notebook. On the desks of many classrooms, the outside bench they hung out on, the bathrooms. Everywhere. "Where could it be?!" Ina inwardly cursed herself with embarrassment. She kept retracing her steps until finally going to Lost and Found to find it. She dragged her feet along, dreading the stench of Lost and Found.
Soon enough, she reached the area however, finding a certain pink haired girl crouched over the Lost and Found box. "Ah, it's you." Mori leaned back up, holding a notebook with the page already open on a drawing that resembled the girl. Her face was slightly flushed, seeing the drawing on the front.
"Y'see, I found it on like a bench or something and I thought about giving it to you but you had left! So, then I ran to put it on your desk but I thought that it could get stolen-! So then I went to Lost and Found to leave it!" Mori gestured around awkwardly to try to explain.
"Right-! Y-You found it. The thing I was looking for," Ina chuckled nervously, fiddling with the sleeves of her uniform. She looked at the floor, taking small glances at the taller girl. She didn't know how to proceed. It was only when Mori pressed the notebook gently into Ina's hands, taking Ina's hand softly. The feeling of Mori's hands scared her, definitely but how she coaxed her by slowly pushing the book to her made Ina affirm it: Mori is a kind girl. "Thank you," Ina spoke, exasperated by her patience.
