Sa isang malaking garden restaurant sa isang clubhouse ginanap ang wedding reception nina Gab at Martina…gusto sana ng parents nila na sa isang 5-star hotel gagawin ito ngunit mas gusto nila yung parang open space lang, kung saan makakalanghap sila ng sariwang hangin at hindi masydong enclosed ang area…sumabay sa parents nito si Tin samantalang mag-isang nagmaneho ng sasakyan si Slater…halos magkasabay lamang ang dalawa sa pagdating ngunit pilit na umiwas si Slater nang makitang kasama ni Tin ang parents nito…Hindi pa niya nakakausap ang mga ito simula nang naghiwalay sila ni Tin noon at hindi niya alam kung paano haharapin ang mga ito o kung ano ang sasabihin kapag nakausap niya sina Anton at Anya.
Naupo si Tin sa long table kung saan kasama nito ang parents niya at ang parents ni Martina…nasa opposite table naman si Slater kasama ang parents nito…sa tuwing mabibigyan siya ng pagkakataon ay sumusulyap si Slater kay Tin ngunit madalas itong napapatingin sa gawi niya sa hindi sinasadyang panahon…pinagsaluhan ng lahat ang espesyal na inihanda nila para sa reception…at maya maya lamang ay naanyayang magbigay ng speech nito ang bestman at ang bridesmaid…
Tumayo silang dalawa may gitna kung nasaan ang microphone…bahagyang nagkatinginan ang dalawa ngunit itinuon nila ang pansin sa mga bisiting nakatuon ang atensyon sa kanila.
Unang nagbigay ng speech si Slater.
“Hello everyone, I’m Slater Roxas, Gab’s best man and confidant…I’ve known Gab ever since the day that I was born, as we both shared the same friendship as our parents had even before we were born…In our friendship, it was Gab who was more adventurous and the type of person who would take any risk just to prove something to himself and to his family…Being one of his closest friends, we would trade secrets, something that even our own parents would know about, but he made sure it is something not beyond his values could take…I’ve always felt that I was a part of their family until one unfortunate incident.”
Huminto ito sa pagsasalita saka napalingon kay Tin. “Which is something I don’t want to bore you with. But if there’s one thing that I can say about my best bud is that he values family more than anything else, that’s why I am happy that he has become a part of our family – my own family. I’ve seen these two fight over crappy little things, and even during the difficult times, they stood their ground and remained strong – something that I could really commend in an extraordinary couple like Gab and Martina..”
Itinaas nito ang baso niya. “To Gab, please take care of my cousin Martina and may you continue to live a fruitful life as one..and to my dear cousin Martina, continue to be patient and understanding with your husband and always remember that I love the two of you. Cheers to the newly weds!” sigaw ni Slater saka nag toast ang mga tao roon….
Pagkatapos nun ay si Tin naman ang sumunod na nagsalita…Iniabot ni Slater ang mic rito saka siya simulang magbigay ng speech…
