~*Link's point of view*~
The sun shown down brightly, grazing my skin with it's warmth. Not a cloud was seen in the sky as I walked along the streets of my home-town, Hateno. A new excitement filled my insides, with a fresh burst of energy alongside it. I guess I should do things for strangers more often! I thought, with a skip in my step.
I waved and smiled at every neighbor I passed, even taking the time to listen to the things they said, despite me saying anything back. I felt as though I could pull the Master sword right from it's pedestal, and defeat Calamity Ganon all over again!
"Hey Link! Can I ask you something?" I heard a teenage boy's voice call out to me, as I whistled myself a little tune. I quickly turned from the direction I was headed, and went straight to him immediately.
"Oh, you came! I wasn't mentally prepared for you to actually approach me..." He stuttered to me, in a bit of a panic. I shook my head at him, and let out a soft chuckle.
"Well, uh- you see... There is this girl- And I'd like to um, you know... Get to know her better, right?" He hesitated, beginning to scratch the back of his neck nervously, as his face flushed red. I lifted my eyebrows, and gave him a playful smirk as he tried to continue despite my teasing behavior.
"I- I want to give her a flower... Today is her birthday, and I want it to be perfect, but I don't know the right one to give her..." He sighed, looking down at his shoes.
"Do you think you can help me?"
I looked down at my boots, caked in dirt, deep in thought. This sounds both fun, and serious. A flower for an admirer... I thought, rubbing my chin.
"I'd be more then happy to help!" I exclaimed, making sure to give him my biggest smile to know I was being genuine, to help ease his nerves. My lips curved more as he looked at me with sparkling eyes filled with hope and appreciation.
"Thank you!" He said, giving me a huge smile that exposed his dimples.
I felt my heart warm from inside of me, as I gave him a friendly pat on the back.
"I know a good place to pick various kinds of flowers. Can you ride?" I asked wrapping my arm around him, leading him towards my house where my horses waited in their stables.
"Not really..." He responded quietly, beginning to fidget with his hands.
"Well, today's your lucky day!" I laughed, as we neared my steed that swished it's tail at flies that bugged him.
I got both of the horses set and ready to ride, leading Zelda's old horse to him.
"You'll be riding this one. This used to be one of my very close friend's horse, so go easy on him." I said, pulling the reins to bring him along. As we got closer, the boy had more terror in his eyes.
"Don't be afraid! He's very gentle. Feed him this apple, give him a pat on the nose, and you two should be friends as quick as that." I tried to calm him, tossing him an apple that was from inside my pocket.
He caught it, and took a deep breath before hesitantly scooting his way closer to the animal that neighed in content. He slammed his eyes shut before reaching out his hand to offer him the apple. The horse thought nothing of it, and began nibbling at the apple happily. The boy was startled, but began to laugh as the tongue tickled his palm as he tried to eat the fruit.
"This is awesome!" He said, beginning to pat the steed's nose.
"I told you," I laughed, throwing my leg over my own horse.
I watched him, making sure he was able to mount okay. Once he was settled comfortably on the steed, we gave both gave a kick to start our trot.
"Follow close behind!" I yelled, slapping the reins to make my horse burst into a gallop, as the wind caught my hair.
"Hey- wait!" Was the last thing i heard before the breeze whistled through my ears, making me unable to hear anything else he would say.

I slid off the back of my horse, as my view became blooms of flowers, stretching miles and miles. Their sweet smelling scent blowing with the gentle breeze, bringing it to my nose to suck in, as it's beauty of bright colors, and different shapes eased my eyes.
"We made it!" I shouted to the boy slowly trotting his way towards me.
"Wow-" He gasped, as his eyes grew huge at the sight.
"This place is amazing! There's so many choices of flowers to choose from though..." He sighed, looking at all the different flowers we'd have to look through.
"Let's pick one of each, then we'll go through, and you'll eliminate them one by one, until you determine your favorite." I suggested to him, as I got right to work.
The boy nodded to me before making his way through the flowers, as we both began to pick all sorts of different flowers out from the ground. Each one was beautiful, and unique in it's own way. I admired each one I came across that I pulled from the earth. As I went along, I stumbled upon this certain white flower. From my knowledge, it looked like a daisy. I couldn't help but stare at it, feeling some odd connection to it. Turning my head back to the boy who trudged through the plants, I felt something hit me. This seems so familiar... I thought, quickly returning my gaze to the daisy, feeling my heart beat increase tremendously.
It was as if my arm had a mind of it's own, reaching to pick the flower from it's spot, like it was calling out to me. I put my fingers around it's stem, and tugged it free. I caressed it's petal before I brought it to my face. I gently caressed my nose across it's pollen, letting it's scent come through my nostrils. As soon as it did, it felt as though everything came crashing down and hit me!
~*"Link, don't forget to pick a few of those flowers for your little sister. You know how much she loves them!"
"I know, mama! I already picked her some, look!"
"Oh, would you look at that! What a nice big brother you are! She is going to be so surprised."
"Also, I picked this one for you! It reminded me of you."
"It's beautiful my dear boy... You're gonna be quite the ladies man when you grow. But, please stay young, my love, I'm not ready to let you go just yet!"*~
I felt myself stop breathing. Her soft voice. Her loving touch. Her genuine smile. Her beautiful blue, shining eyes. It all was coming back.
"Mother..." I whimpered, whispering to the flower that sat quietly in my hand, as my vision blurred from the tears that began to welled within them.
"I had a mother! I had a little sister!" I proclaimed a little louder, now talking to the flower. A huge smile came across my face, as I wiped at both relieved, and sad tears from my eyes.
I once had a loving family I spent my time picking flowers with. And I remembered it.
