A Bid Farewell

The usual deep blue skies of Hyrule were hidden away under thick number of grey clouds that seemed to overstretch beyond the edges of the earth. They had been covering the sky, keeping the warm sun from kissing our skin for days. Everyone seemed to be waiting for them to pour something down on us, but there remained nothing, until as of today. The day of my departure. Of course it'd begin to rain the day I take for my leave. It's as if the clouds were giving their cry goodbye to me as well. Everything was already going to be hard enough... Only for the weather to increase the essence of sadness itself.

I gripped tightly onto the final bit of my luggage, ready to soon be packed away on my ride. Knowing it was the last, I slowed my steps to make my stay longer. The drizzle then turned into a light rain, so I put the hood of my cloak over my head to protect me better of getting drenched. A few small puddles splashed beneath my boots, as my destination crept up in front of me. Time was ticking. There were only a few more moments remaining before I would be heading off. Far away from home, without my dear friends at my side to accompany me.

I quickly wiped away a tear that decided to fall early. I never thought I'd leave Hyrule. Before the calamity, my future was set to be the next heir to the throne. I was to live in the palace, and rule over the land of Hyrule, after my father. That was when we thought we'd defeat Ganon successfully. Everything was changed now. I had my life now to do whatever I wished with it. No one was in rule over me. I had no more duties or responsibilities to withhold. So, here I was now. Leaving everything I know, to become a scholar in another kingdom far away. In hopes to fill this emptiness I felt in my heart.

I set my suitcase down to rest on the ground, as a muscular man grabbed it, finding a place for it in the carriage.

"Once everything is strapped and secure, we'll be heading off. Best if you say your goodbyes now, your Highness." He mentioned to me kindly, rechecking to make sure everything inside the carriage was in a proper place. I nodded my head to him, as a tap came on my right shoulder.

"We're all ready to say goodbye now, Princess." Yunobo said to me with a sigh, as I turned myself around to face him. All of my friends had set themselves up in a line to bid their goodbye individually, one by one. I tried to force away a smile that wished to crease my face from their silliness, as to not upset them.

"It seems so." I said, waving to them who waited patiently behind Yunobo.

"I'm really going to miss you... Don't have too much fun without us while you're away." He said to me, holding out his fist for me to pound back.

"I can't make any promises." I answered, receiving his fist bump. He gave me a sad smile before heading off in his own way.

Next in line was Riju. We both bowed respectfully to each other, before she plopped something into my hands.

"What's this?" I asked, staring at the crocheted creature in my hands.

"I made a little parting gift for you last night, since I had trouble falling asleep. I hope you like it! I made it my favorite breed of the sand seal. So now, every time you look at it when you're away, you'll think of me." She said with a prideful gleam in her eye at her handiwork.

"Indeed I will! Thank you so much Riju, I really do love it." I assured her, giving the sand seal a friendly pat on the head.

"You're welcome. Safe travels Zelda!" She waved, leaving from my side.

Hovering high above my head, Sidon gave a friendly wave down to me. I smiled back, giving him a small wave in return.

"Everyone in the Domain told me to tell you of their wishes for you safe, and easy travels to Montonaria. We're all gonna miss you very deeply, Zelda." He said, wiping away a tear that filled his eye.
