If there was any interest, I did create a playlist of the pieces (Y/N) plays at the event. I have played some of the pieces on this list and others are things I want to play when I gain a bit more experience lol

Aside from the classical works, the improvised piece is the one heard in the restaurant of Shido's palace. I linked that one above in my own rendition of it, so I guess this is also kinda a face reveal? Lol oh well, hope you enjoy.

My month of allotted prep time for Shido-san's event was drawing to a close. While most things were in place and ready for performance, my nerves always tended to get the better of me and I overthought almost any move I made.

If anything, it might be time for another visit to Maruki.

"Hello, how are you doing today?" Dr. Maruki asked.

"Things have been going fine, thank you. How have you been?" I asked back.

"I've been well. Finally made progress on my study, thanks to you and Akira's help." He gestures to the same couches I've become familiar with over a little over a month's worth of time. "So, what do I owe this visit?"

"I think I've just come for personal reasons today," I say with a chuckle. "A lot's happened lately and I guess I just needed some way of decompressing."

"What have you been doing lately?"

"Well, the Politician Shido has invited me to play for one of his upcoming events, so I've spent a majority of my time at the piano." I watch as he crosses his legs, before his right hand on his chin. "Not too long ago, we had a field trip to a tv station. It was interesting, nonetheless, to see how obvious those terms could get."

He laughs at that. "Wasn't that the episode with Goro Akechi as a guest? That must've been fun, especially since he's so close in age to you."

"It's funny, we've actually met before- in Café LeBlanc late one night. Running into each other again at the tv station kind of just solidified something, because we went out for pancakes afterwards," I say with a smile.

"You seem to like Akechi. Oh! I'm sorry if that is too forward. You just light up so much when you speak of him." He shifts in his current position. Did I remind him of himself? I barely am able to pick up the slight, "Almost like me talking of Rumi. . ."

"Do you have a love interest, Maruki-senpai?" I asked out of nowhere. Slapping a hand over my mouth, I apologize for being forward as well.

He laughs, "You know, maybe we are just two peas of a pod. To answer your question, I did. Her name was Rumi and we were very close."

"What happened?"

"Ah, I'd prefer not to go into that."

A silence surrounds us as we both don't know what to say.

"Besides Akechi, is there anyone else you spend your time with?" he asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, there's someone I exercise with. He actually motivates me quite a lot to push my limits and he normally doesn't let me back down on much. It's kind of refreshing how he'll just spit out the truth as if it doesn't matter whether or not it'll hurt your feelings."

"Now that's something you don't hear every day."

"No, it definitely isn't."

"But will that later cause demise when the truths come out too far? Say he kept something from you and the truth came out about it. Would you be able to still hold such high admiration for him then?"
