As soon as I saw noticed the group of oddballs standing in the entryway, I ran straight into Haru's back. A grunt of surprise left her lips.

The rest of the group didn't seem to see this interaction, and Ryuji continued on. "Walk around and hang out, like when we went to the beach."

 "Just enjoy yourselves," Akira said.

"Um," Makoto started, "'hanging out' isn't precisely the focus of the school festival. . ."

"Ah, shut it, Makoto. It's the one day we all don't have to worry about grades while at school. I think we should all consider this a success!" I proclaimed.

"More importantly," a harsh glare was sent in my direction, "it's possible that both your names have come up during the investigation."

"A number of the teachers had been questioned before, and even we were interviewed the other day too," Ann said with a grimace.

"Don't let your guard down too much."

My eyes continued to wander around the passing faces, hoping not to see one in particular. I knew I would have to see him soon, but I was still dreading it.

Haru seemed to catch my train of thought immediately. "I don't think you'll really have to worry about running into him. . . well, at least not alone."

I sent her a soft smile to reassure her I was okay. Speaking more generally towards the group, I said, "Haru, isn't this your first time at a school festival?"

She hummed a yes in response, nodding her head. "I want to go around with everyone and eat at the refreshment stands."

"This'll be a great change of pace from all the nasty stuff lately," Futaba added in.

"Shall we head off to the stands then?" Makoto asked.

"Let's do it. It's good to know I'm not the only first-timer here," Akira said.

"They're pretty good. . . from what I've heard," Ryuji mumbled.

"I know a great one!" Ann exclaimed. "Follow me."

We followed her down the hallways and I had to laugh. I knew immediately where she was taking us. Akira sent a knowing smirk my way as well.

One thing I'm glad about is that I was able to stay clear of getting pulled into it. By making the sign with Akira, I got to call that my contribution. I did not want to be seen wearing a maid outfit.

It was fun to see their reactions as soon as it came into view, though.

Ryuji's face fell quite fast. ". . .So it's your class's stand."

"It's still a refreshments stand, isn't it?" Ann fought back.

"It's like a deserted island here," Futaba said with wide eyes.

Rolling my eyes, I commented, "Thanks, Futaba. That really gives me hope in my class and its stand."

Taking a seat between Ryuji and Akira, I moved Morgana to the floor and a maid was soon to greet us. It just so happened to be the girl sitting behind me in class.

2-D isn't known for having a ton of bright students, so I wasn't surprised to see the drop in formalities immediately. Aside from that, we had somehow already run out of normal takoyaki flavors.

How did we get weird takoyaki flavors in the first place? And why was she continuously making cat paw signs?

She continued to list off stupid reasons for why certain menu items were unavailable.
