Missed an update because school started? Could never be me :)
Aside from that, the sewage system at my school broke today, so I was actually able to write this update somewhat on time (I did, in fact, not update that day)The jostling of the bus and the loud clacking of the train tracks underneath filled my ears as we rode through Mementos for the remainder of wherever we were headed.
The group I had now been surrounded by was quiet for once. I didn't feel like striking up conversation with Fox or the pirate boy either. All eyes were zeroed in on me anyways and that's way too awkward in itself.
I think they had finally learned their lesson: don't trust me!
Most of the harsher stares were coming from the spikey girl. I honestly don't think she'd ever like me.
"How'd you know to hit Queen?" A blonde asked from the very back seat.
"Your attire really does give away your specialties. . . I'm surprised you didn't realize this," I pointed out.
Queen grunted, crossing her arms. Well, it was obvious she was one of the brains around here.
Fox chuckled from beside me. "So you have a trained eye."
"All it takes is some practice. I learned it fast when working down here for almost a year now."
All seemed to quiet at this and I felt their leader's eyes look at me through the rear-view mirror.
Why was he smiling so much at the entire situation?
That smirk's kind of familiar though. Very unique. Speaking of familiar, this entire group looked like people I knew.
Hold on. . .
Squinting my eyes, I took a chance to examine each face in the car. To get a better look at those behind me, I turned around, putting my knees on the seat to get a better look.
"Hey! What are you doing!?" Yellow highlighter asked. Grabbing onto my arm, he pulled me back into a proper sitting position as soon as the car jostled a bit more than usual.
The girl sitting in the front next to the leader turned to look at the commotion.
That's when it clicked.
"Okumura-senpai?" I mumbled.
Her eyes widened at my outburst and the black haired male slammed down on the break. I jostled forwards, not having a good grip and complaints arose around the vehicle.
We crashed into the shadow walking in front of us and the thing exploded onto the glass. An item landed with a thud on the hood of the vehicle and I heard the growling of the motor. Clearly the cat wasn't happy about this.
Turning on the windshield whippers, the male grinned and turned to face me.
"How. . ." Okumura-senpai began.
I was no longer focusing on her though. I was staring into a pair of grey eyes that I knew didn't belong to anyone else.
"Akira. . . that's you, isn't it?" I asked.
Without responding, Akira pressed a button on his phone and we were all thrown back to the upper level of the subway station.
"Hey, (Y/N)," he finally said.
Making our way past Boss, I paused to send a wave his way, before a hand was placed on my back to lead me upwards. Looking up, I was given a reassuring smile by Akira, before he dragged me up the stairs.
