The next day, Akechi had us gathered in front of the courthouse, Sae's presumed palace location. There wasn't much in this all-business area. The only thing that added life to this drab location were the colors of the sky.
"Let's hurry up and get started. Akechi, what'd you find out?" Morgana asked, starting our meeting.
"I rarely get to see Sae-san directly, but I've figured out her course of action," Akechi started. "On the 20th, an investigation will likely be done at Shujin Academy. . . as well as the Sakura residence."
"For real. . . ?" Futaba asked.
"Then that means our time limit is November 20th," Yusuke concluded.
"Still, there'll be quite a bit of red tape involved. I doubt it'll take place before the 20th." Akechi's face fell into this weird frown, eyebrows furrowing.
Makoto jumped in. "We'll take your word. For now, we need to focus on infiltrating her palace."
"I concur. And we should probably get going soon. After all, people like us standing around here is quite unnatural. Well-"
Futaba let out a gasp. "That's-"
Akechi gripped his phone a little tighter. "Huh? What about my smartphone?"
Without warning, Futaba lurched forwards, grasping his phone. "This is the model I wanted! You're so lucky. . ."
I started giggling at her, and the rest seemed to sigh.
"I'm so sorry. Until recently, Futaba was actually a. . . well. . ." Ann started.
Akechi butted in. "It's okay, Sae-san told me the gist."
"Oh, right. Akechi-kun, it may be best if you exchange contact info with everyone too, not just me. . . and, well, (Y/N)," Makoto said.
"That's true."
Futaba, however, was too engrossed with whatever she was doing.
"I'll send everyone's contacts to you later," I offered up.
"Thanks!" Akechi looked around all of the faces. "Well then, I hope we get along. I'll do my best."
"You've got a good personality and good looks? Talk about cheating!" Futaba exclaimed.
"(Y/N) didn't seem to think so. I think she quite enjoyed it," he said with a smirk.
"Akechi!" I said, face heating up. Grumbling, I added, "You're making it sound dirty. . ."
"Shall we get started?"
"We need to figure out what Makoto's sis thinks this courthouse is, right?" Ryuji asked.
"I often hear her call it a 'place of competition' in which she must always win," Makoto said.
"A competition, huh. . . That sounds like Sae-san," Akechi mumbled.
"It'd be unbearable if we were put on trial for a reason like that," Yusuke said. "Although, a competition means it's a match of some sort. Might it be a martial-arts ring?"
Akira shook his head at the denied key-word.
"Then. . . perhaps a stadium? Or maybe an arena?" Haru asked.
Akira shook his head at the denied key-words again.
"There are other competitions besides fighting and sports," Akechi said.
"Gambling, then!" Futaba shouted.
"How about a racetrack for horses? Other than that, there's pachinko, but does that count as gambling?" Ann asked.
