The man somehow got ahead of me while I was lost in thoughts and the next moment, I was on the ground, nose slightly bleeding and palms rashed because of tiny pieces of gravel.
I looked behind at my saviour now cursing loudly in order to scare the goons off as I catch the sight of a blurry figure in a.... Silver Dress?

"OUCH WHY DID I PUNCH YOU!", the drunkard picked up his friend who was in a condition similar to me and the two ran as fast haphazardly as they could.

"I'M CALLING THE FUCKIN POLICE"... "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE RUN-", the voice grew clearer to be a female voice which, to my surprise, belonged to Jerry.

"Oh my god y/n you're bleeding", her tone changed into a worried one as she sat next to my devastated body.

"I saw you walking out... from the window and... I thought of following you..
Because I saw your man dancing with Mina.. His ex.. Did you know that?

But I took too much time in making the choice... I'm so sorry I didn't realize y-"
"wait I'll call Yunho", she worriedly said.

"He was just my... Prom Partner", I quietly said. My voice got mixed with the breeze and I realized she didn't really hear that.

"I'm fine, I just wanna go home", I started getting up while wiping the blood under my nose.
"it hurts", I let out a chuckle.

Without further ado, she dialed a number and held me by the shoulders.
"Me and my brother will get you home.. Just relax.. Okay?", she said.

I wanna hug her and cry and tell her how much I've been keeping in since the past three days.. But I reckon we aren't that close..

She's helping me.. And that's enough in a world like this.
I don't wanna burden her more.

A silence enveloped us as we sat in a car that approached us. Nobody said anything.
There was a male driving the car and Jerry sat next to the drivers seat while I sat in the passenger's dealing with my scattered feelings alone.

*Receiving call from Yunho*

Why is he calling me? The sharp pain in my nose exempted me from taking the call and instead, I texted him,

"I'm home"

"enjoy❤️"

Sending those texts, I closed my eyes and went into a slumber.. Away from my problems.

What I missed out on noticing were two major things:
One, A person standing outside the dance hall keenly waiting for my call... And two,
A pair of cold-looking eyes stealing a long, content glance at me through the rear view mirror.

XXX

The next two days were quiet, full of contemplation and hesitation as no chit chat took place between the two.
Niether did Y/n wish to hear the news of the couple being back together.. Nor did Yunho give her the dreaded news.

The third day, school commenced. Since now was some of the busiest days for the students being absorbed in studies for their upcoming exams, there was one happy, unbothered soul searching for the one he wanted to share his happiness with.

Yunho - heyy bestie <3

Yunho - I'm picking you up today. Got a LOTTTT to tell you. Get ready c ya

Realizing how meeting him was inevitable for her, and how late she already was, the girl picked up her pace to get ready for school.

Yunho's pov

hahh I'm so happy todayyy.. I have so many things to tell y/n

also, why did she leave early that day?
I should ask her first before starting about me hehe...

The thoughts brought me at Y/N's house sooner than I knew.
The door was answered by her, all set to go.
I'm glad she didn't make me wait.

"Good Morning y/n", I cheerfully smiled to which she answered back without even looking up.
I knew some thing's been wrong ever since that day.

"So.. Umm.. How are you feeling today?", I asked.

She finally glanced up at my face and passed a beautiful smile but what was unusual about her face was a bandaid on her upper nose bridge which was nowhere to be seen two days ago.

I noticed the cute yellow bandaid on her nose Bridge decorated with anime chibi characters and suddenly got the golden idea to grab the chance of starting about the topic related to what happened on the prom day.

"Otaku.. I see", I said to her in a teasing manner.

"Yeah.. WAIT.. YOU TOO??", she gave an unexpectedly cheerful reaction.
It's really incredible when people talk about things they love with passion.

"I wouldn't really call myself one.. But I've seen Naruto and Attack on Titan", "I'm more into video games", I honestly stated my experience.

"Yeahhh AOT is just amazing.. I love it so much", she smiled as bright as the sun, to which I nodded and proceeded to ask my main concern.
"What happened to your nose?"

"Nothing..", she hesitated for a moment
".. I just hit a lamp post on my way home.", she passed me an awkward smile.

"Dude you drank Cranberry juice, you sure u didn't sneak in tequila?", I teased her to lessen the cloud of tension between us only to find out that she went even lousy after hearing my statement.

That's when I knew I had made a mistake.
"Hey y/n.. I wanna say something to you".

Y/N's pov

Yunho stooped amidst the road while walking to the school and turned his face towards me with a concerned expression.
My heart skipped 4-5 beats and rats fought with butterflies in my empty stomach, cause I did not have breakfast this morning.

I did not want to be late for Yunho.

Looking straight into my eyes, he took my hands in his and said, "I wanna say something to you."
My heart is melting at his soft yet heavy voice.

"I'm blessed to have met you", he said, earning a gasp from me and continued with an adorable smile plastered across his face,
"I know I should've said this earlier..

But you are the best thing that happened to me this week.
I was so lost ever since Mina left me.

You came like a guardian angel... Pulling me from my troubles.
Showing me a path like a flashlight.

You've done a lot for me. Thank you thank you thankyou thankyou soo much y/n",he geniunely looked happy and satisfied which instantly lifted up my spirits making me realize why I started helping the boy..
Because I wanted to see him smile

.. just like this.

My feelings did neither matter on day 1, nor now. But his happiness makes me feel content.

I being lost in my thoughts created a stream of silence and he was obliged to continue,
"That day when you left.."
