Your POV

When the Bullhead arrived in Vale, I found out that the next Bullhead heading to Atlas wouldn't be leaving for another hour. I sighed and headed to a nearby bar to kill some time. I arrived at the Crow Bar and noticed a familiar figure sitting on one of the stools. It was a gray-haired figure in a tattered red cloak is sitting at the counter with a collection of empty glasses to his side. I smirked slightly as I walked over. I sat down on the stool next to him and I ordered a small glass of Scotch. As the bartender was getting my drink, I said, "It's been a long time, Qrow." He looked at me, smirked, and said, "Y/N 'Phoenix' L/N. It sure has. What brings you to Vale?" I rolled my eyes and replied, "Just passing through on my way to Atlas. James asked for my assistance on something. Guess none of his millions of soldiers are as skilled as me." He nodded and we both chatted for awhile. Eventually I finished my Scotch and said, "Well, Qrow, it's been great catching up with you, but I have a Bullhead to catch." Qrow nodded and said, "I see. Well then, I guess I'll see you around. Good luck with James' errand." We both chuckled and I said, "Thanks." Then I headed back to the landing pads. I boarded the Bullhead heading towards Atlas and took a seat.

After about an hour, we finally landed at Atlas Academy. I thanked the pilot and got off. I made my way to the military sector of the school and found the elevator to the General's office. When the elevator doors finally opened to his office, I got off and noticed that he wasn't in his office. I rolled my eyes as I groaned in annoyance. I walked over to the wall and leaned against it while I waited. After about 15 minutes, I sighed and crossed my arms. Eventually I heard the elevator ding and its doors opened. Then I heard an unfamiliar female voice say, "General, where is this person that is supposed to be helping on the mission?" I saw both James and a woman walked into view. She was a tall and fair-skinned young woman with slate-blue eyes. She wore her white hair tied up in a bun, high on the left side of the back of her head, while her bangs were shaped around the right side of her face, a small curled lock of hair almost reaching to her left shoulder. James replied, "I'm not sure where exactly he is. But he'll get here when he gets here." The woman rolled her eyes and said, "If he even shows up, that is." I decided to reveal my presence and said, "Who's to say that he's not already here and has been waiting for quite some time?"

Both of them jumped at the notice of me. Then the General said, "Ah, Y/N. Sorry about that. It's been awhile since we last spoke in person. How have you been?" I rolled my eyes and said sarcastically, "I'm just peachy, James. But can we get to the matter at hand, why did you need my help so urgently?" The General nodded and said, "My Specialist, Winter Schnee, here needs a sniper to watch her back during an important and dangerous mission. Since none of my men are trained to your skill level, I thought that you might be willing to help." I sighed and said, "Fine, I'll do it, I guess. When do we head out?" James nodded and said, "Tomorrow morning. If you want, I can have one of my men make some upgrades to your gun." I shook my head and said, "No thanks. I'll just be on my way to my room, thank you very much." And with that, I turned and left.

Winter's POV

After the elevator doors closed, I scoffed and said, "General, sir, with all due respect, what's his problem?" The General sighed and said, "He wasn't always so cold. He used to be the exact opposite, in fact." I raised an eyebrow and the General continued, "Y/N is a Huntsman who graduated from Atlas Academy about 5 years ago. He was the leader of his team, Team PLTM (Platinum). But unfortunately, his team was attacked during a mission about 3 years ago. He was the only survivor." I gasped and said, "Oh, that's terrible." He nodded and said, "If you want to know anything more about it, you'll have to ask him yourself." I nodded and said, "Understood. I best get some sleep for tomorrow."
