A/N-Well, Hello! I'm back...since I had extra time today, I was able to do some editing on the other chapters so there are going to be a few more after this. --Laura S.

(Jayden POV)

I awoke to the same commotion I hear every day at my house, my sister getting yelled at by her older brother to get out of the bathroom because her hair looks fine the way it is, my mom, calling me downstairs while attempting to stop my brother from breaking down the door. I sit up and yawn, as there's nothing out of the ordinary today, rather than any other day. Then, there's one thing out of the ordinary that is happening today. I'm going to boarding school. And I was just about ready to run away so I didn't have to go. One thing kept me from running away, though. My mother had two siblings, a brother, and a sister. Her sister, Michelle, had gone to the boarding school and then disappeared. I was intrigued and I wanted to find out what happened. I wanted to find out what happened, and where my aunt had gone. She was around twelve when she disappeared, and although I never met her, I would have loved to meet her. So, I agreed to go to boarding school. I throw on a sweatshirt and some pants, grab a huge, black suitcase off the floor at the foot of my bed. It was so heavy, I nearly fell down the stairs trying to carry it down. When I finally made it down the stairs, I see a flash of yellow outside the window, meaning Iḿ going to be late if I eat breakfast, so I zip out the door, and run straight to the front of my yard. The bus comes back down the road, slowing to a crawl in front of my house, its doors opening to reveal something...normal. Not what I expected, but a relief nonetheless. A person hops out of the back and opens a door, revealing a luggage compartment. I lift my suitcase into the compartment and the man closes the door. I walk back to the front and get onto the bus. The only seats open are way in the back, so I make my way down the small space and sit down in a window seat near the back. I zone out for a little bit, but the doors open, and someone I've never seen gets on the bus. I know most of these kids from last year, as they went to the same school as I did. But, this is a different person. A few moments later, she plops down in the empty seat next to me, sighs, and stares at the back of the seat in front of us. I don't think she noticed me sitting there, but the kids from my old school are all just classmates, so I don't have any friends here.

"Hi," I say, spooking the girl a little bit.

"Hi," She mumbles back, ignoring me completely. I pause. She doesn't seem too friendly. I think.

"Are you nervous about your first day too?" I ask, trying to start some kind of conversation since I have no one else to talk to. She looks up, completely zoned out at first, and then seems to come out of her daydream.

"Huh? Uh...yeah," She says, pausing. "I guess I'm not the only one." She laughs.

"I'm Jayden,"

"Ashley." She replies. We talk for the rest of the ride to the boarding school, momentarily distracting me from the hell that I'm walking into.
