(Jayden POV)

I already hid my notebook, fifth board from the door, marked with a star sticker I found on the floorboard already. Now I'm in the main building. I open my locker, grabbing the photograph. It was one the three of us took at the beginning of the year when Olivia still had a cheap camera. I tape it underneath the shelf in my locker. It's more than just a photo. It's got instructions to where everybody's stuff is hidden. After that, I returned to the Tunnels, telling Ash, who I found wandering around the halls. She nods.

"Could you remove all the stuff on the doors?" She asks.

"Yeah." I nod, walking toward the door in the old Gifted room.

                                                                                    ###

I lay awake. The moonlight shines down like a beam of silver light, reflecting off the floor. There's no way I'm gonna sleep with what's going to happen in a few hours. I sit up, thinking it's better to give up.

"Can't sleep either?" Ashley asks.

"Nope." I say, looking over at Olivia, surprised to see her awake as well.

"I just, for once, wish that this didn't happen." I mumble.

"Me too." Ashley says truthfully.

"Same here." Olivia whispers, her voice quieter than I knew it to be. We talked about what our lives used to be like, trying to distract ourselves from the fact that we could die in a few hours. Somehow, I manage to fall asleep, even with the thought of tomorrow telling me I could die.

                                                                                                ###

Sunlight floods the main room. The pentacle on the glass above us casts its shadow over the room below. Today is it. We live, or we die. That decision is made today. I'm starting to wonder if we should just call the police when I remember what Olivia said. Who would believe the three living teens who claimed to know witchcraft and accidentally summoned a monster that ate all their classmates? I know, if I were a normal adult, I wouldn't. But, I'm not normal, and I'm not an adult. I sit up again, looking over to see the girls sleeping. A few more hours before our fate is determined and they're sleeping like nothing's gonna wake them up. I think. Just then, Ashley sits up, looking around before mumbling an "Oh, that's right." and getting up.

Just a few hours, and that'll all be over either way.

A/N- Ok, so (Just had a heart attack and is quite happy that this didn't happen) I almost lost the ENITRE file I have most of this saved on. Thank the gods I back up everything twice, but my question is why the hell Grammarly deleted such an important file?  I'm quite mad, but I thought I lost two years of work to the abyss of the internet. That was stressful. Anyway, hope y'all have a wonderful Thursday (or whatever day you're reading this)! --Laura S.
