Wonho's POV...

My nerves were shot as Lau, Melvin, and I finally reached Tranquility Medical Hospital. My palms were drenched in sweat, and my stomach twisted into knots.

"How can I assist you, sir?" a young woman behind the front desk asked, her fingers dancing across the keyboard.

"I'm here to inquire about my wife. She was brought in a few hours ago," I informed the receptionist.

"What is your wife's name, sir?" she inquired.

"Mrs. Amber Law-Lee," I replied anxiously.

"She has been admitted to room 207 on the labor and delivery floor," her words barely registered as I sprinted towards the nearest elevator.

As I stepped out of the elevator, I noticed Amber's parents and her brother, Daniel Jr., standing outside her room. Further down the corridor, I caught sight of Amber's ex, Dominic, and his family, restlessly pacing back and forth.

"Son-in-law, we're relieved to see you," Amber's dad greeted me as soon as his eyes met mine.

"Speak for yourself, Daniel," Mrs. Law snapped at her husband, her gaze filled with anger as she directed it towards me. "How the hell did you find out about my daughter being in the hospital so damn quickly?" she barked.

"The real question is why you think I shouldn't be informed about my wife and child's well-being," I responded, countering her with a question of my own.

"That's because you have no damn right to be here," Dominic interjected from behind me.

"I have every right to be here, whereas you have none," I retorted, swiftly turning around to face this disrespectful ass wipe.

"Amber was mine first, you jackass," Dominic shouted.

"But she's my wife now, and she will be for the rest of our lives," I assert firmly to Dominic, pushing him away from me. As much as I wanted to teach this loudmouth jerk a lesson with my fists, my need to be here for my family took precedence over my need to beat his ass.

"That's right, son-in-law. This joker isn't worth getting in trouble with the law," Amber's grandpa chimes in, followed by his wife, as they step off the elevator.

"He probably can't afford to take you on, but I sure as hell can," Daniel Jr. threatens. "If you and your crazy family don't want to find out how serious I am about handing you your ass, I suggest you all get the hell away from my sister's room," he adds, positioning himself between Dominic and me.

"And I'll back him up," Lau interjects from behind me.

"Wonho, go inside the room and be with your family. We'll handle this," Melvin advises me.

The moment I stepped into the room and saw my wife hooked up to several bulky machines, the anger I felt towards Dominic was redirected towards myself. It was like a raging river that suddenly changed course, flowing back towards its source. I knew with a shadow of a doubt that Amber was in this situation due to something I'd done. It was as if I had unknowingly planted a seed of destruction that had now grown into a towering tree, casting its dark shadow over all of us.

Julia was sitting on Amber's right side, holding onto her hand with her head down on the bed, her sorrow palpable. She was like a wounded bird, her wings clipped and her spirit broken. Bianca, on the other hand, was on the left side, wiping her face with a wet washcloth, trying to wash away the pain and guilt that clung to her like a stubborn stain.

I walked up to the foot of the bed slowly, my steps heavy with remorse, as if I were carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. I tried my best to keep my emotions in check, like a tightrope walker balancing precariously above a chasm of despair. Every fiber of my being screamed with anguish, but I knew I had to be strong for them.
