Amber's POV...
I stormed out of my parent's living room the moment my mom started berating me about the mess I had supposedly made of my life. It had become a regular occurrence ever since I moved back in with them two months ago. Some days, her constant criticism about everything I did wrong since marrying Wonho was enough to make me hide away in my old room all day.
The last thing I needed was my mom piling on to the already stressful situation I was going through. Just moments ago, I had caught a glimpse of my husband sitting on a beige sofa, accompanied by a shameless woman who seemed to throw herself at him every chance she got. I couldn't bear to witness it any longer, so I left my family behind in the living room, just as Mrs. Cheng Ae from KBS in Seoul, South Korea was about to ask Wonho her first question.
Seeking solace, I found myself sinking into a royal blue lounge chair beneath the shade of a majestic pecan tree in our backyard. With each deep breath I took, I tried my best to quell the overwhelming rage and anger that coursed through me upon seeing Wonho looking so content with someone else.
As I tried to find inner peace, an unwelcome image of Yun Nara's affectionate smile toward my man invaded my mind, shattering my calmness once again. Despite my longing to sit with my family and watch his interview, the sight of them together, radiating an invincible aura of a perfect couple, overwhelmed me with unbearable pain.
The tears I had fought so fiercely to suppress now cascaded from my eyes like a broken fire hydrant. The tears I had shed almost daily since leaving Wonho in Korea two months ago seemed insignificant compared to the torrential downpour of sorrow that now flooded my eyes after witnessing him with the woman his grandmother had chosen as his future wife.
"Why am I being subjected to this much trauma?" I pondered aloud, the words escaping my lips in a mix of frustration and despair. The sight of Wonho and Yun Nara gracing the front cover of Hearts Magazine, labeled as the 'Dynamic Couple' had already been a painful blow to my healing heart. But now, their audacious affair was being flaunted on television, exposing their betrayal to the entire world.
"It seems like your husband's love for you isn't as genuine as he claims," my mother chimed in, her voice dripping with a twisted sense of satisfaction as she emerged from the back door.
"Please, just leave me alone, Mother," I pleaded, my voice cracking as I desperately tried to wipe away the tears streaming down my face with the back of my trembling hand.
"It appears that I won't have to worry about the two of you staying together much longer," she continued, her words laced with a cruel certainty.
The booming voice of my father echoed through the back door as he confronted my mother, his anger palpable. "how can you possibly find joy in witnessing our own daughter's anguish?" he questioned, his tone filled with disbelief.
My mother sighed, her voice calm yet resolute. "Daniel, I assure you, I take no pleasure in her pain. I simply believe that Lee Wonho is not the right man for our daughter. She truly belongs with Dominic and his family."
"Woman, it's clear that you've completely lost touch with reality if you believe I would simply stand by and allow our precious daughter to spend her life with someone like Dominic, after discovering his infidelity. That despicable man isn't even worthy of polishing my shoes, let alone being married to our daughter. I refuse to let Amber endure the pain and misery that I've endured with you all these years," my father sneered.
"Well, if we're going to talk about cheating partners, it seems that Amber's husband isn't any better than Dominic and me. It appears he's having the time of his life without our daughter by his side. Mr. Lee and that elegant woman sitting next to him on the couch make a far more attractive couple than him and Amber," my mother retorted, a smug smile playing on her lips as she glanced at me.
"Enough with your incessant babbling, Daphne. Your negativity is suffocating. Who our daughter marries should never be your primary concern. Her happiness and the safe arrival of a healthy child should be all that matters to you," Grannie sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
"Why are you so fixated on marrying your daughter into the Castillo family?" Grandpa questioned, his tone filled with curiosity.
"Dad, I'm doing all of this for her own good," Mom replied nervously, her voice quivering.
"Nah, you're doing this for your own selfish reasons, and I'm going to uncover what those reasons are," Grandpa threatened, his voice laced with determination.
"Amber, I know deep down that Dominic is a better match for you," my mom said to me, but it sounded more like she was trying to convince herself rather than me.
"I don't love Dominic. I love and need Wonho," I shouted, the words bursting out of me. But as soon as they left my mouth, a sharp pang struck me in the upper right side of my stomach, causing me to double over in pain.
"Amber, sweetheart, are you alright?" My dad asked, concern etched across his face as another wave of pain washed over me.
"Daddy, it hurts," I screamed, clutching my stomach in agony. The next thing I knew, he scooped me up into his arms and dashed towards the front of the house.

"Hello," I groggily spoke into the phone receiver.
"Wonho, it's Amber," I heard Lau blurt out, instantly jolting me awake. "She's in a bad state," he added before I could even ask.
"I'm on my way," I uttered, my voice filled with urgency as I leaped out of bed, my mind racing.
"She's been admitted to Tranquility Medical Hospital," Lau informed me, his voice carrying a sense of worry. I hurriedly began getting dressed, my thoughts consumed by the need to reach Amber as quickly as possible.
"Lau, I need you to keep me updated on her condition," I instructed him before ending the call. Without wasting a moment, I dialed Kim Joon, requesting that my private plane be prepared for takeoff upon my arrival.
