"Roddy let me go. I'm gonna miss my flight" Alaina complained as she tried to pry him off her but his grip only tightened.

"No. Ion want you to leave" he grumbled, burying his face in her neck.

"It's just for a wee-"

"No" he cut her off.

She and Evan decided that if they were going to move to California for good, they had to go back to New York and pack up all their stuff. And that was exactly what she wanted to do.

But Roddy wouldn't let her.

"Let me go mane. This getting embarrassing" she said. "Look I'll be back before Christmas. I swear"

Christmas was in a week and a half. That was the main reason Roddy didn't want her to go to New York. He feared something would happen and she'd be stuck there, making them spend Christmas away from each other.

He didn't want that.

"You promise?" He asked.

"I promise" she assured him and he finally let go of her.

"Now i-"

"Call me as soon as you get there. FaceTime tho. Ion want no damn voice call. And then gimme a full 360 of where you at" he demanded.

"Yes dad" she replied sarcastically.

"It's DADDY to you" he corrected.

"Hehe...it's ABOUT TIME WE LEAVE to me" Evan cut in. "They been calling for our flight for the past ten minutes. Girl if we don't leave now, there won't be no New York for you to get a full 360 of"

"Right. I gotta leave" Alaina told him.

"So who gon' say goodbye first?" He asked.

"You say it" she suggested.

"Naw. How bout you do it?"

"Ion wanna say it. You say it"

"But I want you to say i-"

"For goodness sake, imma say it. GOODBYE!" Zee yelled and dragged Alaina across the room, wheeling their luggage behind them.

She had tagged along because she had actually always wanted to go to New York and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

"I love you!" Roddy called after her.

"Love you too!" She responded and blew kisses at him.

He let out a breath when they were finally out of sight. Guess he was gonna have to spend the next week alone.

-

"I am so jetlagged mane" Alaina groaned as she opened the door to their place.

"Tell me about it. Them plane seats uncomfortable as hell" Zee complained as she rubbed her neck.

They walked in and Zee gasped.

"I thought you said you had an apartment?" She asked Alaina, who nodded in response.

"Yeah. And you standing in it"

"This is a penthouse" Zee stated, emphasizing on the word 'penthouse'.

"A penthouse is an apart-" she was cut off by her phone ringing. By the ringtone, she already knew it was Roddy calling.

"Hey" she said into the phone when she answered the call, slightly stepping away from Zee and Evan.

"FaceTime" he simply replied and hung up, making her roll her eyes.

"Not even a hello or anything" she mumbled as she facetimed him. He answered immediately. She looked at him expectedly but he just stared back, a blank expression on his face.

"Well?" She asked, trying to tell him that he was supposed to speak first.

"The 360?" He reminded her and she sucked her teeth.

"You not even gon' ask how my flight was?"

"Oh. How was your flight? Good right? Good. Now the 360" he said and she shook her head, flipping the camera to show him around.

"And you gon' be back when?"

"A week from today"

"So the 23rd?" He asked and she nodded in confirmation.

"Okay. See you then" he said and hung up again, making her eyebrows furrow.

The fuck?

"Okay guys. Let's start packing" she told them and they both looked at her like she was crazy.

"Tuh. We ain't starting shit till I get at least 8 hours of sleep" Zee contradicted, plopping down on the couch.

"I second that. I ain't touching nun' till I get a manicure. I haven't had one in ages"

"I thought you got one right before we went to Cali?" Alaina reminded him and he gave her a look.

"That's what I just said. Ages" he repeated himself and raised an eyebrow, waiting for her response.

"Whatever" she shook her head, not even wanting to get into it with them. "Y'all let me know when y'all decide to start". She put her phone into her pocket and walked upstairs to go to her room.

Zee was right.  An 8-hour nap was really in order. She sat down on the bed to take off her shoes but before she could get to lay down, her phone buzzed.

It was a text message.

From Danny.
