Alaina woke up to a big bouquet of white roses right beside her on the bed the very next morning. At first she was confused but smiled when she remembered that it was Christmas morning.
There was a note attached to it so she opened it up and read it.

Alaina thought it was an oddly unromantic handwritten letter but she did it anyway. Picking up the remote, she turned on the TV and pressed play. A smile immediately appeared on her face when she heard the intro.
"Hey midget" Wayne started. "This is really corny but I just wanted to tell you that uh....." He paused a little and she heard him sigh.
"You a blessing...........and I love you. Merry Christmas baby"
Then the video started playing and her smile grew. It was a kind of compilation of all their videos together. All the wonderful memories. Even videos of when she didn't know he was recording. Like times when she'd be acting crazy in front of the mirror because she got her hair done. Or when she'd be pointing a lot cause she got her nails done.
She didn't know if it was the song playing in the background or the sweet message in the beginning or the video itself, maybe even all the three but it had her tearing up.
Just then, the door opened and Wayne walked in with a tray in his hands.
"Hey" he smiled as he put the tray on the nightstand and leaned down to kiss her.
"You are so corny" she muttered, looking down at the plate of food on the tray. It was pancakes with maple syrup drizzled all over it and a heart drawn on it with whipped cream.
"What I do?" He asked, knowing exactly what she was talking about.
"Nun'" she shook her head, smiling a little.

"Where you taking me to?" Alaina asked Wayne for the tenth time in five minutes as he led her through the house. He had blindfolded her and she didn't really know her way around the house yet so she was kinda worried that she'd bump into something.
"Stop asking. You'll see in a minute"
"That's what you said a minute ago" she pointed out and he playfully rolled his eyes.
"Have some patience" he said and smacked her ass, earning a small yelp from her. He guided her as they walked for a little while before he stopped.
"We're here now" he told her as he untied the blindfold. He waited for her to react to the surprise he had planned but when she surprisingly didn't, he turned to look at her.
"Now why you still got your eyes closed?" He asked.
"I'm scared" she answered and he sucked his teeth.
"Open your eyes bruh"
She let out a breath and did as he said. Her mouth fell open at what was before her.
"You got me a puppy?" She asked in surprise as she scooped up the little furry animal into her arms. It was a mixed breed of a Cairn Terrier and a Yorkshire Terrier and it was perfect.
"He is so cute" she gushed. "Whatchu name him?"
"I was gonna leave that to you" Wayne revealed and she smiled up at him.
"Really?"
"Yeah" he nodded.
"That's so sweet of you. Thank you" she said, leaning up to plant a kiss on his lips. "For everything actually. The roses. The corny video. Breakfast in bed. The puppy. Everything has just been perfect. And it's not just because of the surprises. It's like....." She paused, dropping the dog back on the small bed on the floor.
"Like what?" He asked, waiting for her to continue.
"It's like.....I'm finally where I'm supposed to be. With you" she finished and he smiled.
"And you say I'm corny"
"Now you just killed the moment" she smacked her lips and moved away from him.
"Hol' on. I ain't get my kiss yet" he called, chasing after her.

"So whatchu get me?" Wayne asked later when he was watching Alaina play with the dog. She had decided to name him Amir and he had already gotten tired of the dog and how much attention he was getting from her even though it had barely been up to ten hours since she got him.
"What?" She played dumb, even though she knew that he knew that she had heard him.
"I said whatchu get me?" He repeated.
"Oh. Well I got you uh.....big red shoes, some baggy yellow pants, a big red nose-". Wayne's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "-white face paint and a rainbow wig cuh you really a clown if you think I'm gon' get you anything for after all you put me through this year" she said and his mouth fell open.
"Whatchu talmbout?" He asked.
"I'm talmbout Allie. Don't think ion remember that shit"
"You forreal right now?". It was quiet as they held eye contact for a while before she broke a smile.
"Nah. I'm just playing. I got you sum'. Imma just go get it real quick". She left the room and came back out a few seconds later with a gift box.
"Here" she said and handed it to him. "But before you open it, I have to warn you"
"Bout what?"
"There's a huge possibility that you might.....fall in love with me even more" she told him and he smacked his lips.
"Quit playing" he brushed her off and opened up the rectangular box.
"What's this?" He asked, staring down at the envelope in the box.
"Just open it" she smiled. She was really anxious and couldn't wait to see his reaction once he found out the contents of the envelope. She reckoned it'd end in mind-blowing sex and she was really excited for that.
"Oh...kay". He eyed her warily before slowly opening the envelope. He took out the letter and stared down at it.
