Roddy groaned as his phone rang for the twelfth time in five minutes.
It was Allie and he knew it.
She had been calling nonstop since yesterday. He didn't want to answer. It wouldn't be nothing but bullshit anyway. He didn't even know why she was calling after she had gotten him arrested. He hadn't blocked her number solely because of one reason.
His child.
As much as he hated the mother of his unborn child, that didn't mean that he didn't want to be in his child's life. Because he wanted to.
But so far as this was still her second trimester and she wasn't even remotely close to going into labour, she had no business hitting his line up for anything.
"You not gon' get that?" Relly asked, pausing their game of 2k.
"Nah" he responded, shaking his head. Relly shrugged it off and resumed their basketball match. He tried to ignore the ringing but it persisted and he quickly grew annoyed.
"You should seriously do sum' bout that bro" he told Roddy when he had had enough. Roddy thought about it for a while and decided to answer it. Just to see what she wanted.
"What is it?" He asked as he answered the call, standing up to move away from Relly.
"Hello to you too" she scoffed and he rolled his eyes.
"What the fuck you want?"
"I want you to come and see me" she said. He remained quiet for like two minutes before he spoke up again.
"You tripping" he told her and made to hang up but she stopped.
"At least come check up on the baby" she tried desperately and he paused.
"You barely got a baby bump. And I ain't about to waste my time coming over there when you just gon' start talking shit again"
"Fine then. Don't come. The court would like to hear how you refused to come see your child when I demand for full custody" she threatened, as usual.
"Quit with the drama. I'll be there in five minutes" he finally gave in.

Allie smiled to herself as she looked at Roddy who sat, uncomfortable, in the living room. She was determined to have him back where she did before Alaina came back.
Even if he didn't want it.
She knew they could make it work. She loved him and that was all they needed. It was so unfair how she had him first but suddenly that bitch walked in and everything changed.
She'd have to make sure that didn't happen again.
At all costs.
So maybe she had lied about the whole pregnancy thing but she was desperate to keep him. She could feel Roddy slipping away from her so she lied about being pregnant so he'd have a reason to stick around.
Now she wasn't so sure about it because there was supposed to have been a baby bump on display by now. Maybe he didn't think much of it because she was skinny and he didn't think it would show that much.
That was what she was counting on.
The plan wasn't well thought through because at the end of everything, he was expecting a baby and there was nothing of that sort.
Now she was starting to feel guilty.
Maybe she should come clean.
"I got sum' to tell you" she told him and that got his attention.
"What? You need some money for a checkup?" He asked sarcastically.
"I'm not pregnant" she revealed after a long silence.
"The fuck you just say?"
"I said I'm not pregnant Roddy" she repeated. She felt her heart fall to the bottom of her stomach at the look on his face. He looked..... oddly disappointed.
"Why the hell would you lie?" He questioned, his voice unusually low.
"I didn't mean to do i-"
"Didn't mean to what?!" He yelled, standing up angrily from the couch. "You didn't mean to lie?! Didn't mean to lead me on?! Didn't mean to what Allison?!"
"You wanted to leave Roddy! I just wanted you to stay. I didn't mean to take it this far" she explained, tears welling up in her eyes. She didn't like being yelled at. It made her get emotional.
"Well once again, you got me caught up in one of your stupid games" he said. "It's crazy really. I was kinda excited for this one". He put his phone in his back pocket and made his way towards the door so he could leave.
"I'm really sorry" Allie sobbed.
He just shook his head and walked out, leaving her to break her down in tears. She shouldn't have even lied in the first place. She should've just cut her losses and moved on.
She had really fucked up and she was aware of that. All she had to do now was let it be. She couldn't keep making a fool out of herself all the time.
Maybe it was time to move on.

"Hey" Alaina's cheerful voice brought a small smile on Roddy's face and lifted his mood a little.
"Hey" he said.
"You sound weird. You good?" She asked over the phone.
"Yeah" he answered. He was still trying to get over the fact that Allie had lied about the pregnancy. Although he didn't act like it, he was low-key excited to be a father. He just didn't like Allie.
Now his hopes had been crushed.
One part of him was kinda sad about it but the other part, the predominant part was happy. Elated.
At least now he'd be happy with Alaina without having to worry about a baby mama breathing down his neck.
"I got something to tell you" he told her.
"Me too"
"You go first". He said. He heard her let out a breath before she started.
"I won't be home in time for Christmas"
