My anxiety peaked a little as I saw him waiting for me at the front doors.'I didn't do anything wrong. He has a girlfriend' was the mantra running through my head.
We fell into step as we walked out of the doors together. It felt normal but I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
We walked in silence. And while my brain was working on overdrive it wasn't much different than any other night.
He finally broke the silence, "so you and Jones huh?" Smirking at me.
Thankful he couldn't see my bright red face in the moonlight, " ha, yeaaa. It just sorta happened"
It felt like a weight had lifted off my shoulders as I told him about half the team parade through the room in the morning.
We laughed laying in the grass together.
"So are you guys going to date now?" He asked
I looked over and he was looking at wiggling his eyebrows.
"Haha! I don't know. I feel like he wants to, but I'm not sure. He is a nice guy though. Maybe"
He was silent for a second and just said
"You do you boo boo" and poked me in the ribs.
I squirmed away not wanting another awkward end to a tickle fight that we seemed to always end up in.
"Yea" I sighed
He scooted closer and leaned his head on my belly. I played with his hair while we laid there.
I hated how easy whatever this was between us. We just fit.
