"We're here!" Paige yelled from the front door. Cynthia ran down the stairs in a hurry and engulfed her friends in a hug. She hadn't seen them since May and it had really been difficult. It was always hard to keep up with herself when her friends were gone for long periods of time.
"I missed you!" Cynthia squealed happily. There were two weeks until she started school up again on September 7th. They'd be doing their courses online until Hybrid or being fully back into the building was an applicable option.
Cynthia had always been able to do visual learning as she was online schooled for the longest time; this was nothing new to her. For Paige and Austin, it was a whole new territory to explore.
The 17 year old knew how she worked, how she became more productive in a virtual environment. The opposing pair had to learn. They had to find tactics to cope with the difficulties in learning. Thing is, with their luck, as soon as they figure it out they'll be going back either full time or half time.
The trio conversed and took some pictures before ascending the stairs to her room. The girl's mom was at work, as per usual.
The three of them sprawled out across the room. Austin in her gaming chair. Paige leaning on the headboard of the twin sized bed. Cynthia laid across Paige's legs, making the older immobile.
Cynthia's phone rang with the specific ringtone she gave her mother. Her face filled with confusion as she answered it. Her mom's contact was displayed on the screen above accept and decline buttons.
"Hello?"
"Cynthia. We're moving. I quit my job because i found a better one in San Francisco. I have to go but we leave in seven days. I love you." The girl's mother spoke into the phone before abruptly hanging up.
She acted like it didn't bother her. She acted like the phone call was nothing more than an update on how work was going. She acted like everything was fine. Until everyone left that is.
She kindly asked Paige and Austin to leave since her mom was coming home from her job early and she wasn't to have friends over without permission, especially with one being her boyfriend. They left with a hug and smiles on their faces. She kept up the act until they were out of sight.
Cynthia walked to her phone that was left abandoned on her bed. The teen closed her curtains and her door before turning on her LED lights. Once her computer was booted up, she looked at the time displayed on it.

It was the same where Ranboo lived. A message on discord sent through to her best friend, asking if he was available to play for a few hours. Of course, he answered yes and didn't hesitate to call the girl.
"I start school tomorrow so i cannot play for an extremely long period of time, but i will play however long you want me to." Ranboo greeted. She smiled and giggled before saying it was okay.
They played off stream in their own world, just them for a bit.
"Hey Ranboo, have you ever moved before? Like cities or states? Away from a place you grew up in?" Cynthia asked whilst she added expansions onto her home.
"No, i can't say i have. Why, is everything alright?" He asked, concerned.
"My mom just informed me that we're moving. Im leaving in a week and i don't know what to do. We've never not lived here." Cynthia explained, tearing up at the thought of leaving.
"Hey, now you get a fresh start right? New friends? New beginnings? Maybe even get a new boyfriend, or a girlfriend, i would never judge. That is if you and Austin Calculus ever break up." Ranboo joked at the end to lighten the mood. The girl giggled, achieving his ultimate goal. He smiled behind his screen, crouching many times in front of her character.
The pair played for a few more hours before agreeing to simply call so Ranboo could sleep. It was a nightly routine.
They'd play for close to five hours a night, he'd get in trouble for being up so late, she'd brag that no parental authority was present. They'd get off the game and she'd stay on the phone while he fell asleep and then soon enough she'd fall asleep too. Neither would hang up in the morning until both were awake.
Cynthia loved Ranboo's presence and loved him being around.
