The Start of Inter-High

Miyagi Prefecture, Karasuno High

"It's settled, Tokonami High is our first opponent in the Inter-High" Keishin announced to everyone in the room. He approached Kiyoko to see the charts as the majority of you waited for instructions

Since Golden Week had ended, your stay there as a 'member' has now expired and you wanted more ways to spend time with both the sport and it's members. You were sadden at that fact but since you were now close with them, you assumed they didn't mind you hanging around.

The meeting continued with you being lost in your thoughts as Keishin started to tell them the training regimen for the final days of practice. And since Asahi came back, their attacks would be stronger and it will be able to rack more points. The fact that Hinata also tried different ways of spiking, his communication with Kageyama will be a vital key to the matches

"I-I'll be heading this way, Tsukki" Yamaguchi suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence that no one really seemed to mind.

"Okay" Tsukishima replied shortly and started to put on his headphones as he continued to walk away from the both you and Yamaguchi

"Then, I'll be going too" You replied with a bit of sadness in your voice as you couldn't believe Tsukishima would just leave then and there, with no hesitation at all

"Mhm!" He just answered back starting to turn his back as he walked. Before completely walking away, the both of you looked back and waved a final goodbye.

You were now walking on your own towards your home as you feel the night breeze pass by you. You sighed, admiring the comfortable silence you made for yourself.

"What're you doing alone?" A voice from beside you said, startling you in the process

"Kageyama-kun" You said relieved, gripping on top of your heart, making it calm down

"..sorry..." He mumbled with a pout, before forcing himself to get distracted at the first thing he sees

"Anyways, what're you doing in this street? Shouldn't your house be at the opposite side?" You asked, after getting back your composure, eyeing him and his weird state which was staring at a trashcan

"Oh, I was going to buy something but I forgot when I walked pass Sakanoshita. The closest store is near here" He explained, pointing at the store a few meters away from you across the street

"I'm guessing, your milk supply ran out" You teased making him blush, and turn away making a 'hmph' sound as he did

You start to walk pass Kageyama towards the store he had mentioned and he gave you a confused look when you turned at him

"So? Are you coming or not? You asked with amusement lased in your voice adding some small jumps to your step out of pure joy

He followed you, a few steps behind as the both of you entered the store. The smell of air freshener hits you in an instant as you looked for the fridge

Thankfully, there were a few milk cartons left, making you and Kageyama agree not to fight for it this time.

"Aaaahhh! The smell of salon pass!!!" You heard Hinata say as he entered the gym. As always, the others gave him a weird look and just laughed it off, going to their supposed area where their match will happen. You however, were seated uneasy at the stands.

The sound of volleyballs hitting the ground. The smell of salon pass. The different colors of jerseys for each team. You couldn't contain yourself as the surrounding made you feel like home.

Deciding that you needed to cool off the adrenaline coursing through you, you went off to see the girl's volleyball teams. Not knowing who were playing at the moment, you sat down at a random stand as you see the Karasuno Girls get dominated by the opposing team.

Your heart sank. What was this? Were the girls always this helpless? As an unknown emotion swap the adrenaline you were feeling earlier, you decided to stay. Why? You didn't know.

The match ended as soon as it started. The girls weren't even faltered by their loss, it was like they were used to it, and this made you even more sad and feel responsible for it

"I might not know you, but why do I get a feeling that you held back?"

"Why don't you join the girl's volleyball team?"

"Yeah, you look like someone who can really help the team"

"Think about it for now"

" I thought you quit"

And you did. Turning your back away to those who needed you at the moment you didn't notice. This was what you were afraid of, the thoughts and expectations no one is forcing on you but you still felt the need to do.

After the match was concluded, you walked back to the boy's match to see them winning which made your spirits lift up a little. It was now the second set and the competition just seemed to have started.

You examined the match, not just watching it. Queen mode was activated and you didn't know why. Might be because of the intensity of the match or maybe the frustration and pity you felt for the previous one. Maybe even both

You needed to have a serious talk with Keishin

Heyyyyy I'm back!!!

This chapter is kinda short ngl, but i thought it should be a nice place to stop.

I've also been trying to write chapters on a laptop so i can't get distracted and it seemed to have worked for the most part

i was really excited for this chapter because hehe, Y/N, Girl's team, and her past! coming together
