Miyagi Prefecture, During Inter High, After the match with Tokonami High
As you stood in the stands, happy for the current achievement of the team, you could never shake off that feeling of despair and sadness you have just from hearing the word 'girls team'. You felt guilty and you wanted to help them as soon as possible before they make a choice of quitting like you did
"Y/N-san!!! Did you see meee?!" Hinata called out from the court, making you come out of your trance and muster up a smile.
You motioned that you'll meet them by the door and help them get ready for the next match, but Hinata didn't understood. He called Kageyama to help translate and it seemed to have worked. After Hinata gave you a thumbs up and shook his head eagerly, you took this as a sign to go and greet them properly.
You went down the stands and towards the entrance where they were going to do preparations. As you did, you came across a girl from your school who was crying on her own. It was a senpai of yours
It was Yui Michimiya
You could understand her. It wasn't just the loss that made her cry this hard. It was the burden and regret of not doing better. She's their captain and she felt like she had failed. This was sad to look at and you wanted to cheer her up.
So you did. Or atleast you tried
You walked to the bench she was sitting at and sat down beside her, no words being spoken in the first few minutes. After she had finally calm down, she chuckled nasally as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
"This is so embarrassing.." She choked out, trying her best to stop
"Are you going to quit?" You asked softly patting her back a little to show you're not forcing her to speak. She inhaled really hard, making her chest rise and her snot come back to her nose
"What choice do I have?" She smiled, now looking at your shocked expression. You turned away from her slowly before mumbling something she didn't quite understand
"What did you say?" She asked as you finally meet her eyes with determination
"If I help you, would you stay?" You asked. The older girl was definitely taken aback. This was sudden for her and also for you. The athletes in that school had a gist of your past, but they never really came to a conclusion and just labelled it as rumours.
If the Queen were to help the girls, it would make them not only have a chance, but also get back their motivation and drive
"Are you really the queen?" She asked hesitantly creeping her hands to yours and is secretly hoping that you were indeed the rumoured prodigy
"If I said I was, would you reconsider?" You repeated your question and held her hands firmly, giving her the boost that she needed
"If so, I'll be in your care" Your senpai's motivation and hope returned to her eyes as you give her a hesitant smile
Were you really going to do this? There will be no turning back and you needed to stay for the long run
"I'll be seeing all of you in the gym after the matches today then" You stood up and dusted yourself a little, holding up a hand for your senpai to take. She gripped it firmly before sprinting back to her fellow members after giving you the most genuine smile you have seen
Your heart was fluttering with warmth and kindness as you walk down the hall to get back to your plans
Once the team reached your eye sight, Hinata came down and sprinted towards you with a huge smile plastered on his face
