Rulers of the Court [Kageyama Tobio X Reader]

Day 1

Tokyo Japan, Training Camp

After the two knuckleheads had finally arrived, everyone who was free at the moment made their way to greet and get to know the rumoured "freak duo" everyone has been talking about

"Ne-san!" You took a step back from the crowd and went to look at Tanaka's older sister that they have been talking about before that was to deliver both the boys here

She had some great resemblances to his younger brother Tanaka and very much looked like she could be on the same level of energy as him, much less exceed him in that criteria. She left as soon as she arrived, which was unfortunate but it couldn't be helped so the rest just carried on with their matches

Both Karasuno teams ended up having to do multiple diving drills as of course it was the penalty for losing each match. Even though you won one of the matches from earlier on, doesn't mean that the team couldn't keep up and eventually saw through majority of the technical thinking of your plays.

"Shinzen and Karasuno Boys are up next" You heard a voice yell while you did the remaining of the penalty so you could watch the match.

After a quick while, you look over to the court of where the boys would be battling it out with Shinzen. Though it took some time for them to officially start, that didn't matter as much as their performance on the court didn't betray their fashionably late appearance

Smug grins were on Karasuno's faces as they scored point after point after point, the quick attack slipping through the opponents fingers. Of course, as Karasuno was racking in some points, the opposing team would have to score some as well. In the end, the battle had finished and Karasuno ended up winning as Shinzen did their dives

Now, as much as you wanted to watch more matches and analyse them in a technical perspective, it was about time everyone got to washing up and head off for the day.

As you set your towel down on a chair nearby, you couldn't help but overhear conversations between, not only the senpais from your school, but also the managers from the other team's.

Since there were only a small amount number of girls, everyone has basically established a bond between each other, protecting and helping the other out and is generally making friends on the ways.

"L/N-Chan was it? Come here" The bubbly manager from Ubugawa called you as she noticed your presence entering the room. She and the other managers were in a circle, some of your senpais thrown in there too as they giggled and talked about whatever topic they had in mind

"I'm Eri Miyanoshita! I'm the manager for Ubugawa's Volleyball club. Nice to meet you!" She introduced herself as she made space beside her for you to sit on

"I'm Y/N L/N" you smiled, sitting down on the space she has made for you.

Time flies by and it didn't take long for every female in that training camp to be in the same room now. The circle you were sat in had gotten bigger as everyone got invited in, your futons by the sides and were acting as comfy supports for whenever. There were also stashes of snacks someone had brought out of their bag and you all were munching on those as well

"So! Since we're all here, why don't we go around and introduce ourselves so that we can all become friends" Kaori, one of the managers of Fukurōdani High, suggested with a big smile on her face

"I'm Kaori Suzumeda, and I'm one of the managers of Fukurōdani" She started, ushering her fellow manager to continue on the chain as she reluctantly chews on her snacks

"I'm also a manager for Fukurōdani. My name is Yukie Shirofuku, nice to meet you all" She said softly before quickly getting back to her snacks which Kaori took from her unless she talked

"Alright I'm up next" A voice said " I am also a manager. I manage Shinzen High and my name is Mako Otaki" Mako continued, her voice gentle and sweet as she smiled through her words

The introduction thing probably lasted about twenty minutes as everyone seemed to genuinely want to get to know each other. Your senpais definitely got shy at first but that didn't stop them from becoming friends with everyone. The whole night, that room was bustling with chatting and laughter as you shared moments together from each of your teams before eventually having to go sleep

Ngh......I can't sleep

You tossed around in your futon, as your eyes bore into the darkness of the room. You would think that since everyone was working all day, sleeping would be an easy thing, but you guessed wrong.

You didn't know exactly why you couldn't sleep but you knew you had to get some eventually. After trying for a few minutes, you finally gave up and went outside to the corridor to hopefully get some fresh air.....and also milk

You walked groggily outside, careful not to wake the others with your unsteady footing and rocky motions. You could've sworn you accidentally stepped on someone's finger but you got too scared to find out if it was actually a finger or not so you just made your way outside faster.

Once you've left the maze of tangled bodies on the floor, you began walking around the school hallways while looking outside. The moon was beautiful tonight and you were glad to have seen it in all of its glory.

You continued on your quest of walking aimlessly before deciding to go to the nearby bathrooms if there were vending machines around. Turns out there was but the vending machine wasn't the only thing you found

"Yo" He turns his head to meet the owner of the voice and saw your face illuminating under the lights.

"Hey" Kageyama greeted back, steeping aside after being down and grabbing the milk carton he had just purchased and leaning against the wall

"What're you doing up?" You asked, a little ice breaking moment to fill in the silence that you were afraid that might become awkward

"Didn't feel like sleeping yet" He answered, taking a huge slurp out of his drink to which you responded with a soft hum

"What about you?" He asked after hearing the milk carton fall

"Had trouble sleeping... I thought some fresh air would be nice so here I am" You answered, looking at him after stabbing the small box with your straw

"...and also milk" You mumbled after a small sip. Good thing he was still swallowing or else he would've made a stupid comeback right there

You leaned on the wall next to him as you both got drowned by the calming silence mother nature had to offer. That moment felt like a really long time but you didn't mind it at all. In fact, you sipped on your milk slower, and so did he, just to prolong this beautiful moment without having to interfere with anything

Once you've both finished the boxes on your hands, it couldn't be helped but to go and try getting some sleep. Not only did you not have an excuse anymore staying up even later, it was also because you were in a training camp and tomorrow was going to be tiring

You fell on your futon and sleep came as easy as breathing and you fell into a deep slumber in complete bliss and utter peacefulness

sorry I haven't posted, i got burnt out a lot these days and games have been taking a bit too much of my time

I'll probably still have a weird update schedule but I'll try to update more

School is also going to start again soon so wish me luck bcuz I'm pretty sure my brain doesn't work anymore
