Miyagi Prefecture, Karasuno High, After the Match

You see the team in your vision sadly made their way back to the gym where a meeting would immediately occur. You catch up to them and lagged behind intentionally with Kageyama and Hinata.

They walked slowly but even so, Kageyama and Hinata took a different path where the sinks were, to refill the water and all. Everyone didn't bother to call a meeting to hopefully make the team calm down for a bit and regain some of the lost energy they did.

You still followed behind the two, them not seeming to notice you at all but you let it be for now. All of a sudden, Kageyama and Hinata let out their frustrations in front of your eyes. Hinata grasping on the grass floor and Kageyama hiding his tears in the water made your heart ache for them. It wasn't their fault they lost, it was inevitable but they still fought till the end. Sure a different outcome could've been done but it was in the past now as early as it still was.

You stood on your tracks awkwardly, feeling empathy for the two boys who were currently suffering right now. Hinata sniffed, when Keishin came and said the meeting would start eventually leaving you and Kageyama alone.

"Hey..." You quietly approached when you saw that Keishin and Hinata was away.

Silence

"Uh h-hey, Kageyama-kun.."

Still nothing

"Tobio-kun" Finally, a reaction. Kageyama's lower half was stiff and frozen while his hands clenched at the sink. A negative reaction yes, but a reaction nonetheless

"Stop blaming yourself... It wasn't your fault" Reading his mind and heart like an open book, Kageyama's hands loosened on the concrete he was trying so hard to grip at. You took his hands into your own and massaged it to ease the tension that was put there.

"The team still has a long way to go, this is just the beginning. You guys can still participate in the next competitions" You rubbed the spaces in between his fingers and palm, now making his shoulders relax and making you satisfied.

He rose his head from the water still looking down before he leaned onto you for support. His head was on your shoulders making your uniform wet, but who cares about that anymore. You let go of his hands and soothed his back comfortingly as just stayed there. A silence occured but it isn't what it was like before, this time it was a welcoming one you both liked. Just a comfortable silence. That's what was needed needed.

You patted his back one last time before he eventually stood up straight and wiped his face rather aggressively. He then glared at you before walking back to the gym where the other awaited. You of course, followed a confused look on your face as he grumpily walked on ahead.

You chuckled to yourself when you finally realized what had happened. He was embarrassed. You were kinda too, but since Kageyama was openly showing it, how could you not laugh and make fun of him for it.

"Awh, is Tobio-chan embarrassed" You giggled, now skipping and hopping as you walked, taunting him

"Shut up" He is! He grumbled as he kicked a rock out his way as he continued walking. You giggled one last time before leaving that topic there before he actually gets mad. You still followed him, thinking of the training you will be doing later on with your beloved senpais. As you did so, an idea popped in your mind

"Ne~ want to walk home with me again later? We're having practice again tonight and you'll probably do that too with Shoyo-kun so why not huh?" You offered, the idea being so enlightening to you

"Sure why not..." He said inaudible, stopping for a bit

"What was that?" You asked, as you didn't quite catch it

"In one condition" He suddenly added, making you nervous and excited

"Sure! What is it?" You asked, stopping yourself too, now being in front of him

"Buy me milk everytime we do" He said before scurrying off not even waiting for your reply

"B-but-!" You called out being shocked at his demands "I swear to Asahi-san, I'm going to go broke on this" It was now your time to grumble and kick some rocks and pebbles in your way as you made your way to the gym

In the gym, the mood suddenly dropped, making you remember that this is still the same day they lost. Taking a stride to an area not so far away from them, they concluded the most important parts that had happened today and plans for the future. You didn't get to stay too long as you got your own meeting to attend to so you excused yourself silently and made your way to the girl's volleyball room where you were going to change

_______________

"Hello!" You greeted as you see some of the second years almost in perfect gear with the others still in uniform and were about to strip

"Oh hey Y/N-kun, how was the match?" Yui asked unbuttoning her shirt

"They unfortunately lost, Senpai" You answered dropping off your bag at a nearby unoccupied chair

"Oh... Well, that just means they have room for improvement! And so do we! We need to catch up to them so we can show them they're not the only ones!" She started off sad but made it a motivational speech for everyone so they can be fired up for todays training.

After a few more minutes, all of you got changed and made your way to the gym where Watabe and Manami were setting up. You got there chatting with the girls and got to know them better bit by bit.

They were definitely on the shyer side of things but it made you more pumped up to bring everyone's potential out. Everyone seems to enjoy they sport and just wanted an activity to do which involved their friends and you couldn't be more happy to be apart of it.

Needless to say, it now going to be a competition between the girl's and boy's volleyball team... A healthy competition that is
