Camping Preparations Part II

Miyagi Prefecture, Karasuno High, Start of July

It has been a couple of weeks after the defeat of the Karasuno Boys. Hinata's birthday passed, Aoba Johsai, once again lost to Shiratorizawa and many more events in between. Both the Karasuno volleyball clubs were also practicing and doing their best, preparing for upcoming tournaments and events for this season

You were currently in the girl's gym, stretching as Yui called out to everyone for their attention. Once all of you were gathered in a small circle, Yui then said to balance volleyball with studies as midterm exams were right around the corner. She said that if the team still wanted to play, the least they could do was to pass exams

After the small meeting, Keishin called the girls and boy's volleyball team together for, what you assume was another practice match, something that he has been doing ever since everyone got a break from the preliminaries and ever since the other team started to get serious

"Okay, I'll give you guys a few hours of self practice. Do sets, pairs, small matches or do something else. Do whatever you want just don't go over the line" He dismissed everyone before going over to Takeda-sensei who just came in that was near the door

You stared at the court for a bit, thinking for ways to use the time that was given to you when the second years challenged a girls Vs boys with the people who had nothing to do. You joined because why not and headed down to the court with Narita already giving out numbers for the people that was interested in joining

You put on your number and headed towards your side with Mao stretching her arms out. Rinko was also there, bouncing a volleyball on the floor, just waiting for a signal to start. You positioned yourself on the left of the court, Tanaka across from you and Kinnoshita behind him. Mao was across Sugawara while Ennoshita and Narita as referees

Rinko did a serve and Sugawara easily caught it. You watched the court move in your head and saw where the ball will drop, setting it over to Mao in a swift motion, making your side get a point. Smirking to yourself, you high-fived Mao and Rinko who were smirking just as mischievously, looking smugly at the people opposite them and chuckling behind their backs

Narita hesitantly flipped the scores, his mind not entirely comprehending the spike that could almost replicate Hinata and Kageyama's so called quick attack, the main difference was being the spike was more power based rather than fast and almost invisible to the normal eye.

The match continued on with the three of you trying out different techniques you found online that could help you get some advantages in matches. The other team also started catching up using  Tanaka's straight attacks, Sugawara's precision and Kinnoshita's developing jump float serves.

The first set was about over when Keishin called everyone for an announcement with Takeda standing behind him, and Kiyoko to the side looking troubled

"Can I have your attention?" His voiced echoes through the building as everyone started going over. Grabbing a water bottle and towel on the way, you stood near the crowd, waiting for the others who weren't there

"I'm guessing not everyone stayed inside school" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and slouching a little forward to exaggerate his actions more

"Anyways, Nekoma has invited Karasuno to partake in their training camp, along with other powerhouses from Tokyo" He said, his voice filled with hidden excitement

"And since the girl's club has also been training harder now, I've made a request to let you guys tag along" His eyes shifted onto the corner where the majority of girls were at. He grinned at the sight of your star eyed faces as the excitement couldn't be contained any longer

"But, there is a condition" A sudden chill was felt on everyone's spines as the celebrations froze. Takeda was standing behind Keishin, illuminating an intimidating light as he talked, his glasses creating a scary shadow on his eyes, making everyone petrified

"You must pass all of your exams" He pushed his glasses up, the scary shadow still being there. Yui glanced at her girls and smiled, she knew they got this and are already prepared for it.

As the girls smile in relief and happiness, some of the boys were quite the opposite. Groaning and dragging their voice out from their complaints. It seems like some of the guys from the boy's team are struggling.

"I can't let you go away for a whole camp if you're failing in class" He continued, stepping forward while he slowly raises his head, staring everyone down

"You heard him, if you fail your exams you won't be coming to the camp. You can continue what you were doing now. Don't slack off" Keishin finished before going back to talking with Takeda alone

As they walked out, everyone talked about their scores and their average to see if they can still join or not. Majority of you guys weren't that worried, just a few study sessions and you're good but the others... Let's say they weren't exactly that glad about the condition

You see Ennoshita get crowded by both Tanaka and Nishinoya, begging him to teach them so they can pass and come to the camp. Kageyama and Hinata however, were frozen in their place once they heard the news. They would have to ask for Tsukishima's help in order to pass. Talking with him was already hard enough, imagine how smug he will when the two approaches him

A tap on your shoulder brought you out of your thoughts, with the girls smiling brightly at you. You hinted your confusion when you come face to face with them and they just nudged you to look at the scores.

After all those practice matches with the boys, you guys are finally having some sort of advantage against them. This is probably the first time that you would win a set. You got excited to end the match and in the end, you guys won.

After a few more matches and other stuff that happened, the joint practice has now ended and it was up to you and the others to decide what to do with the extra time.

You headed back into the girl's gym, chatting with the person closest to you when you see Kiyoko walking around talking to the first years handing them flyers. You haven't gotten the time to talk to Kiyoko lately because of practice so you didn't know what was happening. You watched her closely and saw her talk to Yachi. Yachi was still easily flustered so it was cute to see her blush from the presence of a beautiful senpai

Knowing that Kiyoko and Yachi were probably good, you continued your walk and minded your own business.
