Miyagi Prefecture, During Interhigh, Match with Aoba Johsai

Too bad that today is the day where Karasuno and Aoba Johsai would have their match, meaning that everyone was on deck to support and do their best. Because if it weren't for that, you would be sulking in the back of your head towards what had happened last night.

It was fun to say the least and you wouldn't mind doing it again in one of these days. Kageyama however is in a state of confusion and denial towards this but more important things came first. And that is Interhigh.

Seating at the stands where you would usually be, you see the team warm up nervously as they eye the contestants across them who were doing the same thing. Intimidating auras suffocating anyone if they had the brains to notice what was currently happening.

It didn't take a while for the match to actually start and of course Karasuno was on edge. They were reclaiming their glory and this is one of the moments they would have to overcome if they wanted to seize it.

The whistle blew and early in the game, a setter dump was already made, twice at that. But of course, this being battle of the kings, Kageyama countered and the real match only started from there.

Aoba Johsai being the more 'skilled' team in the eyes of everyone, they managed to make a huge point gap leaving Karasuno at a loss for words. Everyone was exhausted but their motivations were keeping them upright.

It didn't make matters better when Oikawa found out the secret signal Hinata and Kageyama uses, making your jaw drop in disbelief and shock.. it was bound to happen anyways

Because of Oikawa racking as much points as he can during the set, this forces Keishin to have timeouts which led to them running out of it. The match was still in Aoba Johsai's favor, Karasuno can only do so much for now and one of them was taking their beloved senpai in the match.

Kageyama got swapped in with Sugawara which made you relieved. Senpai was refreshing and something to change change the momentum of the match, be it mentally or by racking as much points as he can. He had more experience and he knew how to be a team player unlike Kageyama at the moment.

The moment he stepped in the court, the intimidating auras the other team emmited finally got to him, but did he let it affect his gameplay? No, because that isn't what they needed right now.

But after much struggles and changes made for the first match, Aoba Johsai still won the first set leaving everyone at a dismay. They didn't let it affect their match though as Karasuno made a comeback for the second set.

Kageyama saw Sugawara's true abilities as a setter and team player leaving him speechless. You of course saw how your senpai did and was cheering him on the sidelines, as you did so, Kageyama glanced at you when you were observing the match with keen eyes and he just scoffed to himself.

The second match is still going to be hard to win despite getting points from Sugawara's tactics because of Oikawa's serve. Kageyama got swapped in later on with an aura you could only laugh at and why is that? He has his head down walking to the court and you knew where this was going

"K-knifu-knives" You bursted out laughing when he attempted to give the team a compliment because he saw his senpai do it and it managed to lift their spirits up. He was so awkward and stiff you knew how weird this must be out of context

Although the initial shock and suprise, the team laughed about it which managed to bring their spirits as high as ever. Kageyama conversed properly with Tsukishima and they became an unstoppable force, eventually winning the set for them

Then it came to the last set, where everything would be settled once and for all. Karasuno wasn't gonna go down without a fight and nor will Aoba Johsai. It started with alot of heat, Oikawa channeling his jealousy and anger for his kouhai to his serves and game play forcing Keishin to once again, do some changes.

As a pinch server to ease some of the tension in the air, Yamaguchi Tadashi, who knew how to do a float serve was put in. It was a double edged sword to put him in at this time. Can he pull it off? No one knew but himself can do it. It was his moment to shine but I guess the light was too bright for him. He caved into his fear and made a service error but because of this, the team calmed down and were able to push past their limits and do better.

Kageyama and Oikawa were neck and neck in the competition to the point of a tie. Long marathons of sets eventually got to them and made them even more exhausted than before. Everyone was tired and could barely move but their motivations didn't stop them from going forward.

Oikawa was fighting harder than ever and saw a that Kageyama has now changed. He now knew what being a team player was and isn't the Dictator King everyone would remind him he was.  You also noticed this, earlier than anyone else actually. It made you proud for some reason and when you think about it, a smile creeps to your face.

You were in your own wonderland of being happy and proud when suddenly the whistle blew and you saw the ball bounce on Karasuno's side of the court. They lost. Hinata's quick was blocked making Aoba Johsai win the match

You slumped in your seat as you rewind the scene in your head. They lost. It was now coming to you as they bow to the audience and each other. You were still seated by the stands when they started to leave, Hinata and Kageyama being one of saddest ones.

You didn't even know how you can get this affected when you weren't the one fighting out there with them. Probably because you missed the court and feeling the adrenaline of competing with everyone else but that dream was yet to come.

Realising that you were welling on your own, you stood up and sprinted back to the school. One idea stuck in your mind, and that was to comfort them as much as you possibly can.
