Peter's Pov:
It's been a week and the day of the Ball has arrived. Not gonna lie, I was kinda nervous. The last parties didn't exactly end well and I don't wanna screw it up. I wasn't the only one though. I was sitting in the living room with Mr Stark, Steve, Thor and Loki, and only Mr Stark was calm, or at least hiding that he was nervous.I fiddled a bit with my fingers, when I heard the door open. We all looked up, but it was only Mrs Potts. She wore a blue dress and walked up to Mr Stark.
After that Natasha came in wearing a black dress, followed by Wanda wearing a purple one.
I looked around the room, but didn't see Y/n. Great, she backed out, I mean, who wouldn't. Suddenly I felt a tapping on my shoulder, and when I turned around I saw her.
"So, do you like the dress? I wasn't sure about it, but-" she said, before I cut her of by kissing her.
"No, I don't like it... I love it! Now, shall we, princess?" I said smiling.
"We shall. Lead the way, my prince." she said with a smile.
"Okay, enough with the lovey dovey stuff. Wanda and Loki are all over each other and Natasha and Steve won't stop staring in each other's eyes." Mr Stark said.
Your Pov:
"Maybe we need to stop only because you and mom aren't like that anymore after all these years. Give us a break, Dad." I said, making the whole room fill with laughter. We all walked to the ball room, I didn't even know we had one. On the other side, it's Stark Tower, we can design each room with only one click on a screen. And it was beautiful, simply outstanding. There were so many people, most of them I didn't even recognise. I walked down the stairs to the dance floor, my arm locked into Peter's.
As we walked down, everyone started looking at us, like we were celebrities. It made me kinda nervous, but Peter looked at me, giving me a calming look.
"May I have this dance?" he asked me.
"Yes, of course."
We walked on the dance floor, and when the music started, it felt like time stood still. At that moment, all the happiness of the world was mine, not knowing it would all go away just a few moments later.
After some time, I sat at the bar, sipping my drink, when Natasha walked up to.
"Y/n, are you drinking?"
"Yes, but don't worry, it's just coke. It doesn't contain any alcohol." I reassured her.
"Hey Y/n, can I talk to you for a second?" I heard Pietro say behind me.
"Yeah sure. What do you wanna talk about?"
"I mean in private. Is that okay?" he said, looking kinda nervous.
I smiled, finding it kinda funny that my best friend was nervous to talk to me.
"Sure, why not." I said.
He led me to the roof, which had the most beautiful view over the city.
"Why did you wanna talk to me?" I asked him, looking at him. He took a deep breath and then he started talking.
"Look Y/n, I can't longer pretend that we are just friends. I really like you and I know you are already dating Peter, but just consider it. I mean, every time you had a panic attack, he wasn't there."
I was shocked about what I just had heard. After I had processed it a little, I looked at him with tears in my eyes.
"Pietro, I hate to tell you this, but as you said, I'm already dating Peter. You're a nice guy, and you deserve to find someone who loves you, but that person isn't me. I'm sorry, but I can't do this." I was about to walk away, when he grabbed my hand.
And then it happened, the moment my world collapsed. When our lips connected, I wanted to push away, but I couldn't.
"Y/n?!"
