Four POV

Her words ring in my ears. "Baby coming NOW."
I try not to panic and remain calm for Tris. She is obviously in a lot of pain and I need to be strong for her. Less than a minute later she exhales and stands up straighter.

"I think," the she breaths, "the contraction's over."

"We need to get you to the infirmary Tris."

"But," she stammers, "the baby's not supposed to come for another month and we don't have the hospital bag and-"

"Tris," I say stopping her. I put both my hands on her shoulders. "Christina can get bring us the hospital bag and the doctors can take care of everything else, but we can't do that unless we go."

She nods. I quickly grab the gifts and drop the in the apartment. We begin our walk to the infirmary. About 8 minutes later Tris has another contraction, groaning as it starts. She squeezes my hand tightly. Eventually we make it to the infirmary. We go the the lady at the front desk.

"Hello how can I help you." She asks without looking up from her computer.

My wife's in labor." I say holding Tris' hand. She types something into her computer.

"Who's her obstetrician?" She asks

"Dr. Sandra." Tris says

"Ok...please fill these out and we'll be with you in a minute." She says handing us some paperwork and a clipboard.

5 minutes later we have all the paperwork filled out. We hand it back to the clerk and she sends us into the labor and delivery ward. Tris changes into a hospital gown and lies on the table. After about 15 minutes and two more contractions a nurse comes in.

"Hi I'm nurse Dana, I'll be examining you. So Mrs. Eaton it says here," she looks at the clipboard, "that you are only 8 months pregnant."

"That's correct." Tris says getting more anxious by the minute.

"And how far apart are your contractions?" She asks
"Every 7-8 minutes. They are each about a minute long." A concerned look spreads over Nurse Dana's face.

"Ok Mrs. Eaton I'm going to check how dilated you are now." She says putting gloves on

Tris puts her feet in the leg rests and the nurse checks her cervix. Tris winces momentarily but is fine as she finishes.

"Ok you are already about 3 centimeters dilated. I'm got in to page Dr. Sandra immediately. We'll get you some medicine for the pain but for now nothing to eat or drink." She leaves the room and Tris starts sobbing. I immediately grab her hand and hold her face with my other hand forcing her eyes to meet with mine.

"What if," she sniffs, "there's gonna be something wrong with him...what if he gets sick from coming over a month early, and what if I'm not ready to be a good mom!" She sobs

"Tris," I sooth, "the medical staff is going to take great care of you and our son. And are you kidding?! You're gonna be the best mom Dauntless have ever seen. And I'm here for you till the end of time. I won't leave your side once through it ok?"

She sniffs again, smiling slightly, and says, "This is why I love you so much."

"Not nearly as much as I love you." Softly I kiss her forehead, then her nose, then her lips, and lastly her baby bump.

15 minutes later, after Tris had been hooked up to all the monitors needed, had been given pain meds, had her blood drawn, and in IV inserted...Dr. Sandra walks in.

"Hello you two!" She said with a smile, "I hear baby wants to come out a bit earlier than expected."
Tris nods.

"Well your labor is definitely progressing. There's no way we are able to keep baby in at this point. He's gonna do what he wants from now on."
