Chapter San-jyu-san: Overreacting Is Sometimes Annoying

Armin's POV

Minutes after trying not to make Mikasa follow Eren and Ymir who decided to skip this class, we're now sitting inside the classroom doing a simple work our teacher assigned that won't be graded. Those two sure are lucky to be skipping class. Not that I want to join them, skipping class is just so wrong. No one should do that. Ever.

"Psst. Armin." I heard someone call me and I looked beside me to see that it was Historia. She really came here to my seat?

"What is it?"

She moved her face closer to mine so that our teacher won't notice us. "Do you know that those two would skip class?"

"No, I don't. Maybe they just decided on the way here?"

"What do you mean, 'decided on the way here'? Ymir came with us and Eren stayed behind to talk to Mr. Levi. How could they just decide it?"

"I just guessed. I've no clue either. Have you tried asking Jean?"

"He's a jerk, so no. You two are quite close so go ask him."

"Me? You're the one who-"

"Arlert, Reiss, be quiet over there!" Our teacher suddenly yelled and Historia quickly went back to her seat. I resumed my work and looked at the teacher who's looking at me. I averted my gaze and just did my work.

A few moments after that quite embarrassing scene Historia and I made, we're now passing our work to our teacher. I was the first one to finish, as usual, and now I'm wondering how teachers can hear even the tiniest bit of sound coming from students. Do they have some supernatural powers? It's quite creepy.

I looked at Mikasa who had a displeased look on her face. Being away from Eren just for a split second would make her mood go bad, but for an hour? I can't even explain it properly. So, being her best friend, I made my way to her seat and decided to talk to her for a bit.

"Mikasa." She didn't look at me. "Hey, Mikasa." Now she looked at me.

"Hmm?"

"Are you mad?"

"No." She said, sharply, which made me a bit scared.

"I know you're mad, Mikasa, but, uh, nevermind. Let's just continue talking later." I went back to my seat after patting Mikasa's shoulder lightly.

Right after I sat down, Historia came beside me again. This time, Annie and Mina are with her. Annie looks like she doesn't care, like always, and Mina's face is beet red for some reason. Is she thinking of something dirty or…?

"Why is your face red, Mina?"

Her face got even more red. "Y-Ymir and E-Eren skipping class… Doesn't that m-mean they'll… you know… d-do… do…" 

Ah. Now I know why her face is red. "It's okay, Mina. They won't do that. And why did you even think of that?"

"W-well, I saw from a manga I read quite a long time ago that if a boy and a girl went somewhere alone, they'll, you know…" 

"You really believe those things you read in mangas?" Annie said, making all of us look at her. "I mean, I read some manga too but I don't believe anything they put in there. I only believe what I know is true."

"The thing is though, is that I actually encountered that kind of thing. Quite a lot, actually." Historia and Annie's faces changed. I kind of got worried a bit about what Mina's saying.

"W-what are you saying? There's no way that would-"

"Okay, class, listen!" Our teacher shouted and the three girls didn't even bother returning to their seats. "I know it's still quite early, but since I have something important to do, you may now leave the class and go to your next subject."
