Whispers and a cloth over my eyes. A hand tight in my hand and a smell of something burning. As I slowly opened my eyes the cloth hovered over where I would have seen. I sat up slowly and squeezed the hand.
"Anna!" Kyo's sweet voice.
"Kyo? What happened?" I asked putting my hands towards the cloth covering my eyes.
"First how do you feel?" He asked concerned. Why won't he just tell me?
"My eyes feel itchy and sore but other than that okay. Can you tell me what's going on?" Then a familiar voice spoke.
"Kyo, I will leave you too." said Jason. I went to untie the cloth but Kyo stopped me. Placing his hand over mine to stop me.
"Kyo, what the hell is going on?" I said again more frustrated.
"Do you remember what happened?" I focused my mind a bit more. That's when I remembered. Samantha was dead and it was my fault.
"Yes." was all I could say. I began to cry but the tears felt like acid when they fell to my cheek. "Samantha is dead because of me."
"NO! It is not your fault. That bitch worked for Alpha Antonio. It is not your fault if anything it is mine. I hired her and took her into the pack because she was homeless and we needed a doctor." I grabbed his hand and squeezed it. He was thoughtful to help others. He couldn't have known. Before I could say it wasn't his fault. Memories of the pain clouded my mind. What the hell did this bitch do to? I went to tear the cloth again, but Kyo stopped me.
"WHY DO YOU KEEP STOPPING ME!?" I asked more pissed off than anything.
"Look Anna before you take that off. You need to know what happened and what she did." I placed my hands in my lap waiting. "She did do the transplant however she did something else. When you called me for help it was very faint but I heard you. When I came to the door, I saw she injected you with wolfs-bane, probably to keep you from mind linking me but it was too late. I heard you. I was lucky to hear you being you weren't fully under, and I don't think she noticed this right away."
"Get to the point."
"She didn't use Samantha's corneas." He took a deep breath. "She used your real brother's." Tears cascaded I couldn't breathe. Panic and lose hit me. Why would she do that?
"Why?" My voice was shaky.
"I believe the sliver moon Alpha wants to scare you. How he found out about your blindness was probably from her and not that spy. I and Gomez think this is a threat." He took another shaky breath. "He wants you to live with the memory of your dead brother." How cruel and sadistic can someone be. He wanted me to feel this way and it worked. I was scared. Now I would have to see his eyes every day and think it was all because of me. He was trying to make me weak, and it was working.
"Then why kill Samantha?" I cried through the question.
"To get rid of a strong Luna. She was loyal to you and that was a threat to him." This was all my fault. My chest rose up and down extremely fast. The tears turned to sobs. Why? Why her? Gomez not only lost his daughter but now his mate. Why did life have to be so cruel.
"Why didn't he just have Stacy kill me?"
"I don't know." Kyo spoke quieter. The thought of me dead was too much for him. I knew the answer he wanted to be the one to do it.
"This is all my fault. If it wasn't for me Samantha could have been alive." And with those words Gomez entered the room by my side. Pulling my hand in his.
