Chapter 17: Creep Match

I woke up later than usual today. It was 7:00 am. Slowly got out of bed. We had a match today. I got dressed and washed up. I made my way to the kitchen where Tezuka was eating. Tezuka looked at me. "How are you feeling?" he asked. "I feel better," I said. I sat down to eat my breakfast.

After breakfast, We walked out of the house together. I took my time walking. Tezuka would walk the same pace as me so that I wouldn't be left behind. He has been paying more attention to me in the recent days. He and I met with Oishi on our way to the location of the matches. I never got to tell him my nightmare.

We waited for everyone to show up at the front. Everyone arrived on time and changed into their jersey. I took my time changing. There was no rush. Tezuka waited for me. We all walked until we stumbled across Fudomine talking to a creepy guy in a green jersey. Tezuka stood in front of me the whole time. He was protective. Tachibana and his team walked towards us. It was the end of Fudomine. We heard clapping. We all turned to the sound.

It was the creepy guy. It seemed that Echizen and Momoshiro had met the guy already. We ignored and continued our way. We were walking to the tennis courts. We were playing against Ginka today. They sounded like they were ready to play until...

"We forfeit. Our stomachs hurt," they said in unison to the referee.

"Huh?" We were all stunned. They all forfeit due to stomachache. Ginka left the courts. The guy in the green jersey wanted to know why Ginka were scared of us. Momoshiro was getting angry. The guy wanted to pick a fight. Momoshiro ran to the guy.

"Cut it out!"

I looked up to see Tezuka. He called out the command. "This ends now," he commanded. Momoshiro stopped and walked back to us. Inui told us that his name was Yamabuki's Akutsu. Yamabuki was our next opponent in the tournament. Inui told us that Seigaku lost the doubles, but Tezuka faced Sengoku in singles 3. It was close. This year would be even more tough with the guy in the team for Singles.

We lost the first double match. Golden pair were next and Kikumaru's acrobatic tennis threw the opponents off. They won the match. Momoshiro was against Sengoku this time. Momoshiro won his match. It was Echizen's turn to play against Akutsu. The match was tough but, Echizen won his match. He was scary.

After the match, we went home. I went to our room and looked at the calendar. I had a doctor appointment soon. I should tell her about my weird heart rate.
