Chapter 19: Feelings Revealed

I looked at him in the eyes. {Here I go...}

"There is something that I need to tell you," I said to him. "What is it?" he asked. He still had my hand in his hand. "The doctors said that there was one thing that was contributing to my progress," I said. I took a breath. "She suspected that I was falling for you," I said shyly. He kept looking at me. I felt him squeeze my hand a bit tighter. "Is it true," he asked.

I looked down from his face. "Yes," I said. Next thing I knew, I felt his arms around me. "I'm glad," I heard. I felt myself smile. My heart was making a comfortable beat. I embraced him back. "You can call be by my first name you know. We are getting married," he said to me. I nodded my head.

We pulled apart after a few minutes. "Do you feel the same way?" I asked him. He nodded his head. "I'm glad," I exhaled. I looked at the time. "You should be watching your TV program right?" I asked. "Yea," he said. We were on the bed next to each other. I leaned my head on his shoulder. We kept our hand intwined. We watched the program together.

Soon, tt was bed time. We went to wash up and get dress for bed. After we did our routine, we got into bed. I went under the covers. Kunimitsu went under the covers and pulled me to an embrace. I listened to his heart beat. It was soothing. It helped me fall asleep.

That night, it was the first time that we slept in each other's arms.

Couple Days Later...

I woke up from someone shaking my arm. I looked up to see Kunimitsu already dressed for the day. "You need to wash up," he said. I nodded my head. I went to the bathroom and wash up. I got dressed and went to eat breakfast. Kunimitsu set the table for me. I gave him a smile. "Thank you," I said. I gave him a kiss on the cheek to thank him. He gave me a smile. We ate breakfast together. After breakfast, we head off to school.

After classes....

It was tennis practice. Everyone were rallying and the regulars did their stretches. Freshman carried baskets of tennis balls. Kunimistu was watching everyone. I walked up to him to give him the schedule with a smile. He gladly took the schedule from my hand. We notice Katsuo coming onto the court. Kunimitsu turned to him. "Where is Echizen," he asked. Katsuo said that Echizen had classroom duties it seemed so he was going to be late.

Kunimitsu and I watched the club. Kunimitsu and I notice that the students stopped practicing. We turned to notice a guy with crazy black hair was on the court. We walked towards them and stopped a few feet away from them. I notice that he wore a Rikkaidai school uniform. Rikkaidai won nationals last year. He introduced himself as Kirihara.

Kunimitsu spoke to everyone. "What are you guys doing?" he asked. Kirihara turned to see us. He kept talking about Kunimitsu beating Kirihara's sempais last year at the Kantou Districts. He asked if he could have a match with Kunimitsu. Kunimitsu turned away a bit. "People not in the club should leave," he said.

Kirihara got angry and notice me. "Who is the girl next to you Tezuka? Is she your girlfriend?" he asked him. I didn't like his eyes. Something about his eyes that made him look sinister.I stood behind Kunimitsu to hide myself a bit. Kunimitsu was getting a bit more angry.

I saw Arai getting angry. "Yo, don't be disrespecting our captain and our manager! Hurry up and leave," Arai said. He smashed the ball toward Kirihara. Kirihara got the ball easily with his racket. Kunimitsu kept his cool. Later, Kirihara said that he was joking.

Kirihara told Arai to get ready to get the ball. He swing the ball and it caused a domino effect across the whole court. It missed Arai and it hit Momoshiro's face that led him to lose his grip on the racket. The racket hit Kachiro in the back of the head that led him to drop the basket with tennis balls and the basket fell on top of Kikumaru's head.

Everyone started to fall from the scattered tennis balls. A student tried to balance on two tennis balls and lost his grip on his racket and the racket it Kaidoh. Kaidoh's drink splattered on him. Kaidoh got angry.

There was so much chaos on the tennis courts. Kirihara got scared and quickly slipped out of the tennis court. Kunimitsu got angry. "Everyone! 30 laps around the field," he said. Everyone ran laps. I put a hand on his shoulder. "Calm down," I said softly. I could feel him calm down under my hand.

Kunimitsu went to inform Ryuzaki-sensei. We would be having our intra-school ranking matches to determine the Kantou tournament representatives.

After practice, we walked home together. At home, we had dinner with the family. Ayana had been eyeing us. {I think she knows something is different between Kunimitsu and I.} After dinner, we went to our room. Kunimitsu told me about the ranking match. I knew that Kunimitsu would have to face a regular.

"Miyu, are you alright?" I heard.

He voice brought me out of my daydream. "Huh? I'm alright," I said. He came over to me. He gave me a frown. I knew what that meant. I sighed. "Don't push yourself too much Kunimitsu," I said. He took my hand in his hand. "Don't worry. I won't," he said. I nodded my head.
