*Karai's POV*

This was too good to be true. I could destroy two in one, and father would be more than proud. Taking down my enemy's oldest and my sister.

"What are you doing back in New York? Shredder said you were gone for..." Leo began, unsheathing his katanas.

"I completed my assignments and brought a little back up," I replied. I held my katana up, giving the signal.

All fifteen of the recruits leaped up onto the building by my side. Their new black suits not making a sound as they crawled.

Kitanna stood, and I decided to have a little fun. "Kitanna, I almost didn't recognize you with your disguise cloak. That's a good look for you. Too bad it's going to be messed up." I smirked.

"No one will be 'messed up' tonight. Karai, listen to me," she pleaded. "The Shredder is not our father. He..."

"I will not listen to your lies, traitor!" I hollered. "Once you two are finished, all that will be left is the man that killed our mother!" I pointed my sword out at them, and the soldiers attacked.

Kitanna held out her hands and claws extended from her finger tips. The cloak mother gave her clutched in her left hand, ready to block the blades.

"Foot clan! Go after the turtle. I'll take the cat," I shouted.

Leo was swarmed by the soldiers, stuck in the middle of a circle of them. Kitanna began knocking through the edges of the circle, beating about a quarter of all my men.

I grinned and snuck around behind her. If she was distracted, I could easily gouge this katana through her arm.

I slunk into the shadows, being careful not to make a sound. This was going to be fun.

*Leo's POV*

I fought the circle as best as I could. I could see the men farthest from me being knocked of one by one. It wasn't long before I could see Kitanna coming into the middle.

I had a twinge of fear, thinking she was coming after me, but when she reached the middle with me, she still fought off the Foot.

At one moment we caught eyes and smirked. We stood, shell to back, and fought off all the soldiers.

"That wasn't much of a chore," I said after the last guy was knocked out.

She looked at me and smiled. I smiled back, but then I heard a noise. An unpleasant noise.

Then I remembered: Karai.

"Kitanna...!"

"Ahh!" She grunted as a ninja star hit her injured shoulder. She turned around to see her sister coming right at her with her katana drawn.

I heard a growl come out of Kitanna. Her eyes went from green to all yellow. From anger or pain, I don't know.

She leaped high into the air, dodging the attempt. Landing on her feet perfectly, she then threw herself at Karai.

"Hey...!" Karai whined. Kitanna pinned her down.

"Listen to me well, sister," she growled. "Prepare yourself for pain and uncertainty. Shredder is not our father, and I know this. If you refuse to believe it, fine. But once you get your stubborn head out of the dark, come find me." And with that, she sheathed her claws back into her... hand? She pinched Karai's pressure point, knocking her unconscious.

She picked her up and laid her gently behind a vent. Sighing, she pulled the throwing star out of her re-injured shoulder.

I stood, looking from Karai to Kitanna. There was no way they were friends all those years ago. Older and younger siblings, friends then foes.

I shuddered. I really hoped that never happened to me and my brothers.

"We must save your brothers soon," Kitanna pointed out, looking at the sky. "Morning is coming."

I nodded. "Let me see that shadow cloak."

*April's POV*

I paced back and forth behind the couch in the lair. This was outrageous! Why did Casey get to go, but I didn't? And now I had six people to worry about.

I shook my head. This was a good time to practice staying calm in a stressful situation.

I sat down on the couch and sighed. It was going to be a long break...

"Red!" I heard a voice echo through the lair.

"Casey?!" I called back, jerking up.

"I need a little... help!" He breathed.

I hopped up and ran to the entrance where Casey lay, his leg sickeningly dis formed.

"What happened?!" I cried, helping him up.

"Karai... she..." he gasped.

"No need to finish." I helped him onto the couch. "What about Leo and Kitanna?"

His eyes widened as he looked at me, worry in them. "I... I don't know."
