*April's POV*
"Are you sure you'll be okay getting home?" I asked Casey.
We exited the hospital and met Kitanna at the designated spot we had planned.
Casey was on crutches, his leg in a black cast. Kitanna held all his equipment and had a spaced out look on her face. Her cloak hood was down, and her ears were bent in concentration.
"Hey Kitty," Casey grunted, still not used to the crutches.
"Hm? Oh, good you're back. I was starting to get worried," Kitanna stated full heartedly.
I could see past her lies. "Kitanna, you are hiding something. Would you like to talk about it?"
A flash of fear, but relief whizzed in her eyes. "I guess I can... but let's get Jones home first."
"Aw man! No gossip for Casey Jones?" Casey whined.
"Not with your yapping toothless mouth," Kitanna joked.
Casey groaned and began walking home. The trip there was oddly silent, but I couldn't help but feel that we were being watched...
I looked over to see Kitanna, her eyes yellow and swaying back and forth.
"You okay?" I placed my hand on her shoulder.
She immediately snapped back into reality. "What is happening?"
"Nothing..." I replied.
"Geez, Kit, how can you be a Kunoichi when you don't even realize what's-"
"Casey, could you give her a break?" I asked. "She just went through a painful experience, more than the pain you just went through."
Casey cringed at my comment. "O-okay, then," was his reply before hurrying off as fast as his arms would carry him.
Once he was gone, I asked, "Okay, what's going on? You've been acting strange since your quick recovery."
"The premonitions are becoming stronger," she explained. "I feel something terribly wrong is going to happen, but..." she paused mid sentence.
"But what?"
"I don't want the others to know," she explained. "They have a whole amount of trouble on their hands already, and I feel like I'm just placing more on their shoulders." She hung her head.
"Kit, you don't have to be afraid to share with us. Just like you say, trust is everywhere, it's just not obvious to the unseeking eye." I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Now, tell me what's wrong."
She took in a deep breath. "Alright. The premonitions are becoming stronger, as I said before. But what really troubles me is what they are about," she hesitated.
"Go on. I'm a friend, loyal to the end," I rhymed.
She half smiled and continued. "What troubles me is that the most recent one I had showed the top of a building, and everyone we know, besides Casey, was on top. My fath... the Shredder had someone in his grasp and held him over the edge."
I waited for her to continue, but something in her eyes showed that the rest was too much to ask for. "That sounds terrible," I replied.
Kitanna cleared her throat. "That isn't all," she explained. Taking another deep breath, she stated, "There was a yin-yang symbol. It was right on my arm, over my birthmark. That represents evil and good, but also a division, or choice."
"Choice? What will there be to choose between?" I asked, perplexed.
"Family."
