Ever day for the next three weeks, I could not find Till anywhere at the school (and I didn't bother knocking on their door). But finally, my birthday came and I promised myself that if I had not seen Till the day before my birthday, I would go to his house and I would talk to him. I was really happy, though because those guys never bothered me ever again and whenever they saw me, they acted like I wasn't there. I guess Till was really intimidating.

The day before my birthday rolled around sooner than I had hoped and after school, Armen came to my house.

"So, that's his house right there?" He asked as we threw rocks into the street from my driveway.

"Yeah."

"Then go up there!"

"No!"

"But you promised-Fine, I will!"

"Armen-no!"

He started running, but he was way faster than I was and answered the door before I could reach him.

"TILL IS OLDER THAN I IMAGINED, RILLA!" He yelled to me and I immediately fell embarrassed.

I walked over with my head down and I looked up to find Werner standing there.

"That's because that's his dad, you dipshit!" I punched him in the arm.

"I know-I just needed to find a way to get you over here," He then turned to Werner. "Now, my friend Rilla has been wondering where Till has been."

"No I haven't," I lied.

"He's right upstairs. In fact, I could get him right now. TILL! TILL!"

"Oh my fucking God," I hid my face in Armen's shoulder.

"Yes?" I could hear his voice was really close. "Rilla?"

I looked up and saw him standing there. "Hi."

"What do you need?"

"Nothing."

"He is good-looking," Armen said. "I'm not a queer though. You speak the truth, Rilla."

"I want a new friend," I said.

"I'm going to go," Werner walked away.

"Thanks for helping Rilla with those perverts," Armen thanked Till.

Till rubbed the back of his neck. "You're welcome?"

"FOR FUCK'S SAKE, RILLA!" Armen yelled. "YOU'RE THE ONE THAT WANTED TO TALK TO HIM AND YOU'RE THE ONE THAT WANTED TO COME HERE!"

"Holy shit can you not yell?" I lowered my voice.

"Sorry, just girls frustrate me sometimes," Armen said.

"They're so indecisive!" Till agreed and leaned his arm against the doorway.

"Seriously! They talk about how they want to see this guy, so you set the date up-"

"And then when it happens, they back out!"

"I feel targeted," I stated.

"That's because you are being targeted my darling," Armen patted my head.

"Would you guys like to come in?" Till invited us.

"Sure," Armen answered for both of us.

We all went into Till's room and they started talking about Till being in sports and going to boarding school and then they started talking about random shit. I was getting really bored, so I stood up and walked out the door, but Till asked where I was going.

"I need to go to my house and see what we're doing tomorrow," I said.

"What's tomorrow?" He asked.

"Your birthday!" Armen exclaimed. "I forgot!"

"It is?" Till asked.

"Yeah," I pulled down my shirt. "You guys have fun."

I walked away pissed off at myself because when I finally saw Till, I was a chicken and I didn't even act on it. I walked to my room and I screamed into my pillow out of frustration. I wished that things were easier in life.
