------------------------------------Time Skip: Three months later

I walked up to Peter's doorstep and knocked on the door to pick up Grayson and Kiera. As soon as the door opened, Grayson hugged me and so did Kiera.

"Hi!" I squeezed them and picked up Kiera. "Hello, Peter."

"They were fine," He told me. "They just cried about how much they missed you."

"I hope you know they do the same thing at my house-they cry about how much they miss you."

"Mhm. And how's your relationship with Till?"

"Can you stop it, Peter?"

"It was just a question, Rilla."

"You know damn well that I spent some time away from him for a whole month, okay?"

"A month isn't enough."

"Enough for what?"

"To mourn over a divorce."

"You're going out seeing people, too!"

"And?"

I sighed. "Let's go."

I grabbed Grayson's hand, and I buckled them both, then drove to my apartment. When I arrived, I put Kiera in her high chair while Grayson sat down at the table, and I cut them a couple slices of pizza I made before picking them up.

"When are we going to see Dad again?" Grayson asked.

"Next week," I said as the door knocked. I ran over and opened it up, and there stood Till. "Hi." I kissed him.

"Hello," He came inside and shut the door. "Are they here?"

"Yep."

He ran to them and hugged them, then hugged me and asked how picking up Grayson and Kiera was.

"He was so mad," I rubbed his back. "Like, more mad than usual. I don't know if I can keep doing this, Till."

"That's alright. Not all divorces end well in the aftermath."

"I just wish this one did."

"Maybe it will get better later."

"It probably won't."

Till stopped hugging me. "Stop thinking like that, Rilla."

"I'm sorry. I can't believe you're going to be leaving next month."

"That's the life of being a musician."

"I'm going to miss you."

"We'll still be able to see each other. But for now, we act like that isn't happening. We disregard it."

I scoffed. "Like that would work! Wait, Grayson, you're going to go to your dad's house tomorrow."

"For how long?!"

"About a month."

"Oh. That means that we won't see you for a month."

"That's alright-afterwards, everything will be back to normal."

"Nothing will ever be normal again."

I sighed. "Sorry."

"Why don't you love Dad anymore?"

"I still love your dad, just not in the same way."

"Then what way?"

"I don't know how to explain it, buddy."

"That's alright," He threw away his plate and washed his hands. "I'm going to go to my room."

After everyone went to bed, Till and I sat down on the couch. He ran his fingers through my hair and started kissing my neck.

"Till," I tried pushing him away, but he kissed my neck harder. "Till!"

"Hm?" He stopped.

"We can't right now."

"Why not?"

"Because I have my kids upstairs. We can do it tomorrow night or something."

"Oh, so now we're planning things?"

"Oh my God," I chuckled, grabbed some beer, then sat back down and drank it.

"So, what did you mean when you told Grayson you still loved Peter?"

"I don't love him, Till-you know that. I just have to tell Grayson that because he'd be heartbroken if I told him otherwise."

"I get it."

"Do you?"

"Yes!"

I couldn't help but stare at how beautiful he looked.

"What?" He asked.

"Nothing," I shook my head.

"What is it?"

"I was just looking at you. You're so handsome, Till. You don't look like you're about to turn forty."

"Way to rub it in my face."

"I'm being serious!"

"Thank you," He kissed me. "Goddammit."

"What?"

"I want to make love to you right now."

I kissed his neck and shoved my hand down his pants. As I felt him groan, I took my hand out and backed away.

"What was that?" He asked.

"Nothing!" I started laughing and ran to the kitchen.

"You can't be doing that shit!" He grabbed me and started tickling me. "You can't be doing that!"

I couldn't breathe because I was laughing so hard. "Till, I-I can't breathe."

He stopped tickling me and kissed me. "Want to go to bed?"

I grabbed his hand and we went to sleep safe and sound.
