I woke up the next morning to my parents shouting in my face, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
I chuckled and pushed them away. They sat down on my bed and just looked at me.
"Sweetie, we got you two presents today," My mom told me.
"We got you one thing that is here right now," My dad continued. "And one for later."
"Okay," I replied. "Do I need to go to school?"
"Hmm, you can make that decision once you see your presents downstairs," My mom giggled.
"Let me get dressed first," I said.
I got dressed, brushed my hair and teeth, then I saw my parents waiting for me by the stairs. We all went downstairs and I looked in our kitchen to see my older brother standing there.
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed. "OH MY GOD!"
I squealed and ran to him crying. I jumped up and I hugged him.
"YOU'RE HERE!" I screamed.
"My eardrums!" He set me down.
"OH MY GOD! JOHNNY, YOU'RE HERE!"
He chuckled. "Yeah."
"Where did you go?! One day I woke up and you were gone."
"I ran away to Grandma's house, but I'm fine now."
"You look way older. How old are you?"
He chuckled. "I'm only 18."
"I missed you," I hugged him. "Do I have to go to school?"
"No," My parents answered.
"We want a picture," My mom said.
I stood up and turned around and smiled, then they snapped the picture.
"What do you want to do?" Johnny asked me.
"I just want to drive around," I said, and then there was a knock on the door.
"We'll get it," My parents said in unison.
"I remember you used to love just driving around while listening to the radio," Johnny said.
"I don't appreciate you just leaving one day. I was only eight!"
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine-I don't want to argue."
"RILLA, SOMEONE'S HERE TO SEE YOU!" My mom yelled.
I furrowed my eyebrows as Johnny and I walked to the front door. I then saw Saskia standing there.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" She yelled then turned and looked around. "TILL, WHERE ARE YOU?!"
"ES TUT MIR LIED!" He yelled and then walked to the front door and smiled. "Happy birthday."
"We got you something!" Saskia handed me a box.
I opened it up and it was a beautiful necklace that had a diamond in the middle of it.
"Thank you!" I gave Saskia a hug and then stood in front of Till unsure of what to do. "Um-"
"You can hug me," He said and chuckled.
I hugged him and then thanked them once again.
"I also drew something," Saskia handed me a paper with my name in cursive on it.
"It's pretty," I said.
"I worked hard on it."
"Sorry about-um-yesterday," Till told me.
