It was a very bizarre and rare sight.
The pallet, which was usually brimming with noise, was silent today.
That didn't mean that there were no people. The number of students was no different from any other day. However, the students who used to chat with their friends loudly and enjoying themselves were instead whispering among themselves giving the occasional glances to the sight that caused this bizarre atmosphere.
At a corner of the Pallet, in a round table for four, were seated a very very unusual group of people; isolated from the rest.
The four who were seated there were Horikita Suzune from Class D, Ichinose Honami from Class C, Ryuuen Kakeru from Class B, and Sakayanagi Arisu from Class A. They were all the leaders of the respective classes.
It was the first time that all of them had gathered like this, garnering the attention of everyone else around.
The four sat, sipping their coffee, but none seemed to speak anything.
"So. What business do you have with all of us, Ichinose-san?"
The first one to speak was Sakayanagi Arisu.
"First of all, you all know about the special test that we are undergoing right now, right?"
Ichinose decided to dive right into the heart of the matter.
"You all know what the actual rules and regulations of this special exam are, right?"
Ichinose looked at the three of them. They spoke nothing but she knew that they all knew about those rules and the risk that it entailed. They all knew what was kept under the shadows from the rest of the second-year student body.
Only those who were the leaders should be able to know what she was talking about.
The fact that they seemed to know what she was talking about confirmed that they were either the leaders themselves or they at least knew who the leader was.
"So, you think that we all should co-operate for this exam, is that right?"
Slowly putting down her cup, Horikita spoke.
"Kuku. Cooperate, eh?"
The one to laugh at her words was Ryueen Kakeru.
"Hey, Suzune. Ichinose never said anything about cooperation between the classes. So, why did you think that she was thinking about that? Or wait maybe that was what you wanted to hear, huh?"
Ryuuen looked at her with the eyes of a hound, which seemed to have smelled what Hotrikita's intentions were. But Horikita also didn't waver and faced his stare head-on.
"It was easy to guess what the purpose of today's meeting was going to be. The fact that you are here means that you also knew of that, didn't you?"
"Hah. I am here just to pass some time I had free. That's all."
"If that's the case then you are free to leave any time you want. Nobody is forcing you to stay here."
"U-Um......"
The mood was getting awkward and Ichinose wasn't sure what to say to them. She knew that she won't be able to stop the two of them with her words.
"Hmph."
Ryueen was the one to first look away.
After things seemed to have settled down a little, Ichinose spoke again.
"So, what I want is for all of us to co-operate so no one gets expelled."
"So, what you want is that we should abstain from submitting the names of the leader, right?"
